About me

Please note I am currently only available for online clients.

Do you feel like you have a certain way of understanding yourself and fitting into the world? It could be to work very hard or to make sure everyone else is okay before yourself. Has that way of understanding yourself stopped working? You may be experiencing anxiety, depression or feeling stuck? If so, then talking therapy could help you to make sense of the world and your place in it. I am passionate in my belief that people have an amazing capacity for change and growth. I work by providing an environment that helps people flourish and find their authentic and vital self.

I originally qualified in person centered counselling, this approach focuses on the experiences and needs of a person helping them to discover their own answers at their own pace. I am now in advanced training as a Transactional Analysis Psychotherapist, here we explore how the experiences someone has gone through shape them into the person they become.

I was drawn to working as a therapist from a combination of my own life experiences and those close to me, we all have a past and I am no different.

If you are interested in working with me, please email to arrange a free assessment call to see how we can best work together. In this call we can discuss what you might like to gain from coming to therapy and what I can offer. If we both feel we are well matched then we can book a regular weekly time slot.

Training, qualifications & experience

  • Level 4 Diploma in Therapeutic Counselling
  • Level 3 Certificate in Therapeutic Counselling
  • Level 2 Certificate in Therapeutic Counselling
  • Foundation Year Certificate in Transactional Analysis Psychotherapy
  • Years 1, 2 and 3 of Clinical Training in Transactional Analysis Psychotherapy

I originally trained in Person Centered Counselling and am now entering my last year of core training to become a Transactional Analysis Psychotherapist. I work by combining both of these approaches.

I have spent years working in the third sector for the charity Mind and also working in secondary care mental health as part of a Community Mental Health Team.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

Accredited register membership

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy
Accredited Register Scheme

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
