About me

Are you finding life hard? Perhaps feeling isolated, lonely or overwhelmed by relationships, family or friendship difficulties? Maybe you find yourself seeking comfort in food, alcohol or drugs? Or, you find yourself excessively working, online shopping or using social media, etc? Do any of these things sound familiar? If so, and you are new to counselling or psychotherapy, I know how nervous you are probably feeling.

How counselling and psychotherapy can help

I am here to support you and depending on your hopes and needs, we can work together over a brief period or for however long you require.

Whatever your focus, therapy can help;

  • to reduce anxiety
  • to reduce depression
  • to address difficult family issues
  • to cultivate better personal relationships
  • to reduce low self-esteem
  • to improve your confidence and assertiveness

Online offering & Locations

I offer some face-to-face counselling and psychotherapy sessions in London Bridge, central London. This central London venue is clean, comfortable and within walking distance from London Bridge tube/train stations.

I also offer online sessions via Zoom (or via WhatsApp/telephone if preferable). Further details upon request.

What to expect in the first session

I offer all prospective clients a free 15-minute telephone consultation to discuss how I may be of service to you. We can discuss our mutual availability during this call to arrange an initial 50 minute session.

This initial session is an opportunity to see how we can work together, your expectations and desired outcomes from therapy and any questions you may have for me. Offering you a safe space to be seen and heard is my top priority.

Feel free to visit my website, or to get in touch via email or phone (direct links can be found at the top of this page).

Training, qualifications & experience

I am a trained Psychosynthesis practitioner, holding a Masters equivalent (Level 7) Post-Graduate Diploma.

Psychosynthesis is a style of counselling and psychotherapy; utilising a range of therapeutic approaches and techniques tailored to your needs. Additionally, I specialise in working with shame, family systemic work, exploring life meaning and purpose, and spiritual growth.

I have 15 years' experience in business, so understand the pressures of the corporate world. I have also spent 10 years working with and supporting the lesbian, gay, bisexual, trans and queer community at prominent organisations including Terrence Higgins Trust, Switchboard, Albert Kennedy Trust and Diversity Role Models.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

Accredited register membership

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy
Accredited Register Scheme

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.

Other areas of counselling I deal with

Challenges and difficulties related to sexual and/or gender identity i.e., being lesbian, gay, bisexual, trans, non-binary, gender questioning or queer (LGBTQ+).

Perhaps you feel shame (a deep sense of unease) around your sexuality or gender identity. Maybe you are drinking or taking drugs more often than you would like to admit to others. Or perhaps you are worried about your sexual behaviour, or using drink/drugs to have sex.

If this sounds familiar, then we can discuss these things together in confidence and without fear of judgement.
