About me

I am a BACP fully qualified integrative counsellor and psychotherapist and have a number of years of experience working in the mental health sector. As an integrative therapist, I believe that there is no single approach that fits all and instead use a combination of psychodynamic, humanistic and cognitive behavioural techniques to ensure that I can work in the most effective way, helping you in the way that suits you best. As individuals we are unique and think, feel and behave in different ways and I feel it is important to recognise this and work with clients in an individual way too.

I provide a warm, safe, non-judgemental space where we can work together with complete confidentiality. My approach is supportive and involved. I often work to explore patterns of behaving and relating with others while at the same time identifying practical approaches which can help you make changes in your everyday life. I see our work as a collaborative process with the quality of our relationship at its heart.

I work with adults from a range of diverse backgrounds and am experienced in working with a range of issues including but not limited to:

Anxiety, depression and low mood, relationship and parenting issues, anger, trauma and abuse, loss and bereavement, family issues, anger, panic attacks, work-related issues, bullying and low self-esteem and end of life therapy.

Training, qualifications & experience

  • Postgraduate Diploma in Integrative Psychotherapy - Regents University
  • Foundation Certificate in Psychotherapy - Regents University
  • Certificate in Counselling - City Lit

In addition to my private practice, I have several years of experience working with a wide range of issues in both long and time limited therapy. I have worked as a psychotherapist with Mediation MK supporting families through separation and divorce and with problems of domestic abuse and addiction. I also currently work for a leading charitable service where I help people in crisis on a 1-1 basis and in groups.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

Accredited register membership

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy
Accredited Register Scheme

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
