About me

I am an experienced and fully accredited Counselling Psychologist (CPsychol & HCPC), Psychotherapist and Supervisor, registered with the UKCP. I am currently working as a psychotherapist in the NHS, with clients that face life-changing health issues, and in my private practice. I am also providing clinical supervision to trainees of Counselling Psychology and Psychotherapy.

I have extensive experience in working with clients facing a variety of issues, including depression, anxiety, traumatic experiences, addiction, eating disorders, bereavement, obsessive and compulsive disorder, social and relational issues, and more.

Over the last ten years I have worked in a wide variety of counselling settings, both in Athens and in London, including the public mental health sector, charities, private clinics, university and forensic settings. My dedication and commitment to my profession has inspired me to complete a Doctorate in Counselling Psychology and Psychotherapy, and to continue my personal and professional development by attending seminars in Mindfulness and Focusing, as well as specialised training for various mental health issues.

The therapeutic process:

Life is often described as a journey which, while at times can be interesting and joyful, at other times it can leave us feeling lost, lonely, depressed and/or anxious. The focus of our work will be to explore the issues and concerns you might have towards your life, in a safe and respectful environment. We will work collaboratively, and I can help you gain a better understanding of this journey, and how you can choose to live it more fully and with greater contentment.

While life can often feel disappointing and meaningless, psychotherapy can help you feel supported, and can allow you to see more clearly who you are and who you want to be. The therapeutic experience can be the start of a healing process for you, and the discovery of a more fulfilling approach to your life.

Issues we can explore:

Psychotherapy can be helpful when we are faced with major life crises, or when we feel sad, frustrated or lost. It is also an opportunity to reflect on the ways we connect and relate with others and to become more present and aware, helping us to improve our relationships and make better choices.
Some of the issues you can explore in therapy are the following:

  • Relational and social issues
  • Depression
  • Anxiety
  • Trauma
  • Lack of meaning
  • Confidence issues
  • Panic disorders
  • Phobias
  • Addiction
  • Obsessive and compulsive disorders
  • Issues of sexuality and gender
  • Family issues

Everyone is unique, so every issue you will bring to therapy will be treated with respect, care and confidentiality. This is a chance for you to discuss what really matters to you in a safe space, where you can talk openly without tension or fear of recrimination. Working together can help you identify and challenge old, unhelpful patterns, gain greater acceptance, and open your life to new possibilities.

Training, qualifications & experience

I have completed the Doctorate of Counselling Psychology and Psychotherapy (DCPsych) from Middlesex University.

I am a Chartered member of the British Psychological Society (CPsychol) and the United Kingdom Council for Psychotherapy (UKCP), as well as a registered member of the Health & Care Professions Council (HCPC).

My training is integrative which means that I draw upon a range of different therapeutic models, such as CBT and Psychodynamic, but is essentially Humanistic and Existential. This means that I value your unique and subjective experience, and through a collaborative relationship, our therapeutic sessions will be tailored to meet your unique needs and concerns.
