About me

I provide highly specialist Cognitive Behavioural Psychotherapy (CBT), Interpersonal Psychotherapy (IPT), Psychodynamic Psychotherapy, and Person Centred Experiential therapy. Working as a Senior Psychotherapist/Supervisor in the NHS I have helped many people overcome depression, low self-esteem, anxiety disorders, phobias, eating disorders, relationship issues, as well as helping to manage living with Long Term Conditions such as IBS and Long Covid.

My post-graduate training was at the Institute of Psychiatry, Psychology and Neuroscience, King’s College, London, where I received tuition from world leading experts in CBT, Supervision and Long Term Conditions.  I trained in IPT at The Anna Freud National Centre, London, where again I received world class tuition. This, in addition to my extensive training in Psychodynamic Psychotherapy at Goldsmiths College, University of London, and Person Centred Experiential training at the Metanoia Institute, London, means I have a wealth of expert knowledge and experience to support a wide range of mental health difficulties.

Using National Institute for Health and Care Excellence (NICE) recommended evidence based CBT and IPT interventions, I have had many years of experience working with clients to successfully help them overcome a variety of psychological difficulties such as Depression, Generalised Anxiety, Social Anxiety, Health Anxiety, Panic Disorder, OCD and PTSD.

Using IPT I am also able to work interpersonally, exploring how problems in relationships can impact on mood. This work can focus on conflict within a relationship, life changes eg divorce and redundancy, grief and loss, and difficulties in starting and maintaining relationships.

A Psychodynamic Psychoanalytical approach may be more helpful to understand how relationships and experiences from the past can impact on the present.

Alternatively, a Person Centred Experiential perspective enables an understanding of underlying feelings and emotions, and how these can maintain a depressed mood.

Depending on your preferred approach and goals for therapy, brief or longer term treatment can be offered. If you’d like to give me a call I offer a free 30 minute consultation and will be happy to spend time with you discussing your individual needs to ensure that together we find a way of working that best suits you.
