About me

Since I qualified with an MA from the University of Nottingham, I have developed my private practice, in addition to facilitating the introduction of a counselling provision at a nearby school/college. Additionally, I have worked for an agency focusing on stress and anxiety around work related issues, facilitating short-term return to work referrals.

I offer sessions up to 60 minutes both online and on the telephone in addition to walk and talk availability. These sessions are offered at a weekly/fortnightly frequency and explore regular reviews of your experiences and process.

My practice has included both young people (aged 6-25) and adults which have carried a wide range of presenting issues. I firmly believe that via my experience and methods, you can make positive progress within our sessions no matter your age or background. Anybody is welcome and embraced in our time together.

Training, qualifications & experience

As described previously, I qualified with an MA in Person-Centred Experiential Counselling and Psychotherapy Practice from the University of Nottingham.

I am a member of BACP (British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy) and abide by their ethical framework, professional conduct, and practice.

I invite you to make contact with myself to go through any questions you may have. That step to make contact is very often described as the most difficult, you may feel anxiety, or be uncertain to make this step into your counselling journey. You are welcome, without any conditions, to explore this going forward. Together we can navigate what feels important, even if you aren’t sure just yet, at your own pace.

To get a bit more information and see if counselling with myself is for you, I offer a 70-75 minute first session where we can talk about what you might want from counselling, and I am happy to answer any queries/concerns you may have. Here I will have the opportunity to explore the therapeutic contract with you. There is no obligation to continue after this session. All content of the session is strictly confidential.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy
Accredited Register Scheme

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
