About me

I'm a clinical psychologist offering individual therapy for adults. I appreciate how hard it can be to start working with a new therapist, and prioritise creating a trusting working relationship where difficulties can be discussed without shame or judgement.

I continue to work in the NHS as a senior psychologist, and have several years of experience working with people across the lifespan facing a range of difficulties. I draw on a range of therapeutic approaches in my work including Cognitive Behavioural Therapy and third-wave approaches like Mindfulness-based Stress Reduction and Compassion-Focused Therapy. This is helpful in tailoring our work to your particular needs and preferences, with some approaches being more structured with a focus on the 'here and now', while others can be more explorative and include looking to the past.

My advice for anyone looking for a new therapist is to reach out for an initial consultation and experience how it feels to speak to them, as well as asking any specific questions you might have about their experience and qualifications. This can be helpful place to start narrowing down your options, and help you decide if you would like to continue with an assessment.
