About me

In-person and remote psychotherapy

There are many reasons why we find ourselves in search of a therapist.

You might have come to a point in life where you are in search of answers that you would like to explore together in therapy. Perhaps you have noticed patterns over time that you would like to understand better. It could be that you have come to a realisation that something just needs to change or that things just aren't working anymore in the way that they used to.

Having a confidential and non-judgemental space where you can explore parts of yourself together with your therapist can be challenging, but also immensely rewarding.

I am a qualified and experienced psychotherapist offering psychodynamic therapy (both short and long term) in the form of weekly sessions of 50 minutes. We can meet at my practice in Caterham or have our sessions remotely by video.

It can be difficult to take the step to begin seeing a new therapist. I am happy to have a discussion over the phone to go through any questions that you might have before making your choice. We would also begin by having an initial session to see if psychodynamic therapy would be beneficial to you and where you can decide if it feels right for you to continue.

My experience includes working with anxiety, depression, autism, addiction, complex trauma and PTSD, grief, domestic abuse, anger management, identity, relationship issues, suicidal thoughts and personality disorders. I am a registered member of the BACP and work in line with the BACP framework and ethics.

Therapy during family court proceedings

I also run a specific therapy service tailored to individuals who are going through family court cases. This involves weekly remote therapy for either part or the entirety of a case.

For those in family court cases involving abuse, in addition to offering weekly therapy, I also offer one-off sessions (1 hr) for moments of crisis.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
