About me

When life feels difficult for you and it's starting to affect your day-to-day living, then perhaps it's a good time to  get some support from a counsellor, rather than allow the situation to get bigger. I'm an experienced integrative counsellor, and by talking with me I can help you to fully understand what is going on for you at the moment and help you find different ways to deal with your issues.

Are you feeling anxious or depressed? Or frustrated, angry or scared? Are you finding that your mind is going so fast you feel overwhelmed at times? Can’t stay still for a minute? Do you find that sometimes your decisions don’t work as well as you’d like, or you feel stuck in a situation? Do you have challenges in your relationships?

My aim as a counsellor is to be able to get a feeling of what it's like being you, to understand your thoughts, feelings and behaviours, and also to support you by helping you to cope better. I will be looking out for repeated patterns of actions or behaviours, and seeking out coping mechanisms that are outdated, as a lot of these would have been set in childhood and growing up. We will work together to make changes, so any difficulties in your life are easier to cope with, and life feels more positive.

I'm not going to judge you or be shocked by what you tell me, but I will be supportive and caring and at your side when you talk about any difficult issues in your life, which may be about yourself or others, past or present.

I have had feedback from past clients telling me that before coming to counselling they were sceptical about whether counselling would work, and after they’ve completed their therapy feeling that it had a positive effect on their lives.

My counselling practice is based in Milcombe, which is 10 minutes from Banbury, Oxfordshire, and I work with individuals and couples aged 18 and over.

If you would like to know more, or if you would like to book an initial consultation, please feel free to contact me.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
