About me
Whatever you want to talk about, I offer a safe, confidential space to listen to your concerns and help you overcome difficulties. Don’t think your worries are too small or too big and complex to be tackled. The most important thing for us is to form a relationship we can build on. Our initial conversation, by telephone or face to face, will be a get to know each other session to see if you feel I am someone you can talk to and work with to improve your life.
I have 20 years’ experience and specialist qualifications in counselling, including working with survivors of sexual violence; drugs and alcohol misuse; safeguarding and child protection.
I also have a background in both teaching and drugs work and am accustomed to working with young people and in multi-agency teams. I offer one to one counselling, staff development and group work.
Counselling is about me listening; helping you to understand your feelings and to change your life, if you want to. I am here to enable you to find the best solution to your concerns and to provide you with the time and space to resolve them.
This relationship is not about me giving advice or telling you what to do; it is not a magic cure or quick fix but could make a significant, life-changing difference.
If you want to take this first step please contact me and together we can work towards achieving your goals and leading a happier, healthier life.
I pride myself in being non-judgmental and wanting to support both individuals and groups to improve their lives. I am able to travel to where support is required and can tailor training to suit organisations’ needs. I am passionate about personal and professional development and keen to support teams who may be struggling in any way.
I have worked with clients on numerous issues including: Anxiety, Depression, Bereavement and loss, Trauma, Anger management, Attachment, Eating disorders, Relationships, Sexuality, Self harm, Sexual violence, Addiction, Suicidal thoughts, Self-esteem, Stress, OCD, Ill health and Work-related issues.
There are many other experiences too numerous to list, so please contact me if you have any questions.

The National Counselling and Psychotherapy Society
This Not For Profit association of counsellors and psychotherapists aim to support the counselling profession, members and training organisations.
In 2013 the NCS register was accredited by the Professional Standards Authority under the Accredited Voluntary Register Scheme. Accredited by the Professional Standards Authority.
BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).
Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.
Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.
All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
