About me

Hello, and Welcome.

We all struggle sometimes and maybe need some time alone. Other times we need someone to listen.  Here, at the Start of the Beginning, you can express all your thoughts and feelings safely. In a comfortable and confidential space, without judgment.

Maybe you are finding things have just gotten too much. There may be some deeper trauma or loss you're dealing with, and I know it can be really hard to talk to family or friends without feeling like a burden.

Your safety, physical well-being, and mental health are at the heart of my practice. I offer a safe, relaxed, non-judgmental online or face-to-face space where you can safely explore all your thoughts, feelings, and behaviours.
It can be hard to talk to those closest to us, especially about our darkest fears and thoughts, without feeling judged or guilty. However, talking through all your feelings and emotions can positively impact your life.
It is so important that you find the right counsellor for you.
Having that genuine therapeutic bond with your therapist can make a significant difference in therapeutic outcomes.
I believe that, given the right conditions and the right counsellor, you can find your own answers and decide the best way to move forward.

I offer one-to-one confidential and therapeutic counselling online or in person.

Qualification and experience

I am a Qualified Counsellor, a Member of the British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP ), and an accredited member of the National Counselling & Psychotherapy Society (NCPS). This assures you that I work ethically, adhering to both the NCPS and BACP guidelines regarding confidentiality and ethics and always keeping your best interests at the heart of my practice.

Initially qualifying in person-centred therapy, which is a non-directive and non-judgemental talking therapy. I now integrate this with Creative and Cognitive Behavioural therapies.

I believe you are the expert on yourself, and I offer a supportive, warm and safe space for you to explore your thoughts and feelings without judgment.

As a qualified Cognitive Behavioural Therapist, I may use worksheets and some elements of psychoeducation to enable you to become your own therapist. I also work creatively using a variety of tools and interventions when appropriate. This offers you the opportunity to explore your thoughts and emotions through a more creative approach, such as working with symbols, colours, card images, or other creative media.

Training, qualifications & experience

I offer a combination of person-centred therapy, cognitive behavioural therapy, and Creative therapies.

I also offer one-to-one and group Hypnotherapy, supporting clients with issues such as anxiety, self-esteem, weight loss, and phobias.

I am now in full-time private practice, and I have extensive experience supporting clients who have experienced sexual abuse, trauma, domestic violence, suicidal thoughts, self-harm, bereavement, anxiety and depression.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
