Gaynor Rimmer. Counsellor Registered MBACP
Hello, and Welcome.
Are you struggling with anxiety or depression maybe things have gotten too much? Is there maybe some deeper trauma or loss your dealing with. It can be really hard to talk to family or friends without feeling a burden.
We all struggle sometimes and we can need some time alone. Other times we need someone to listen. Here at Start of the Beginning you can express all your thoughts and feelings safely. In a comfortable and confidential space, without judgement.
My name is Gaynor, at Start Of The Beginning counselling, I offer one to one confidential and therapeutic counselling.
I am a qualified Counsellor, qualified in Person Centred therapy and Cognitive Behavioural therapy.
Person centred therapy is non directive and non judgemental believing you are the expert on you. I combine this with the more directive CBT, using worksheets and psycho-education to enable you to become your own therapist. I also work using creative tools and interventions when appropriate.
Your safety, physical and emotional well being is at the heart of my practice. I offer a safe, relaxed, non-judgemental space. For you to explore all your thoughts, feelings and behaviours.
It can be hard to talk to those closest to us especially about those darkest fears and thoughts. Talking through all your feelings and emotions can have a positive impact on your life.
Its important that you find the right counsellor for you. Having a genuine bond with your therapist makes a massive difference to the therapeutic outcome.
I believe given the right conditions, with the right counsellor, you can find your own answers and the best way for you to move forward.
I am a member of the British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy, this assures you I work ethically, adhering to BACP guidelines regarding confidentially and with the clients best interests always at the heart of my practice. .
I am mum of four with one child on the spectrum with extra-ordinary needs. Deciding to train as a counsellor after struggling to get him a diagnosis and feeling alone without adequate support.
Because of this I completed a course in understanding individuals on the spectrum. This made thing so much clearer, helping me understand the struggles my son faced daily. This had a positive impact on myself and my family.
My practice is open Monday to Friday, Saturday. Daytime and evening appointments available
The practice is easy to reach:
A 10 minute walk from Southport town centre or train station.
By car 2 minutes from Central 12, shopping centre southport, with free roadside parking available outside.
