About me

A warm welcome to you; my name is Garry.

Do you question, "Who am I?" or "How did I end up here again?"  Do you experience signs of depression, anxiety, stress or addiction?  Perhaps you are plagued by relationship difficulties? Has a sense of loss and grief impacted you, struggled with bad habits or addiction, or felt that life is not working for you?  These are some of the things many of us navigate alone daily. If this resonates with you, I can help.

Embracing the humanistic principles that we are unique, complex individuals with innate internal resources that drive us to flourish, our work together will support you in understanding what limitations prevent you from living a fulfilled life.  Through therapy, we can access this potential to strive and thrive. While it is not the only way to resolve personal struggles, therapy can change the trajectory of life. As such, I honour the responsibility of working with you and am driven to help you find your solutions.

As a registered member of the British Association of Counselling & Psychotherapy (MBACP), I graduated with a BSc (Hons) in Humanistic Counselling from Metanoia Institute in London, one of the world's most respected therapy training institutes. I have had the privilege of working with many clients in various clinical settings in my career and in private practice, where I see clients in person in my London and Sevenoaks clinics.

I am now delivering all of my counselling exclusively via a real-time online video platform (Zoom).

My specialised knowledge and experience regarding working with drug or alcohol problems and other addictions including problematic compulsive behaviours. Other specialist areas of interest include:

  • Abuse.
  • Relationship issues.
  • Trauma & PTSD.
  • Depression and Anxiety
  • Men's mental health, working directly with a charity in the prevention of male suicide (the biggest killer of men under 50 in the UK today).
  • Food issues & eating disorders.
  • Self-harm.
  • Loss & grief.
  • Gender and sexuality.
  • Neurodiversity.
  • Personal development & well-being maintenance.

It may be daunting to scroll through profiles to find the right therapist. Please don't hesitate to email me if you need any further information.

I offer a free 15/20-minute introductory online meeting without commitment to hear your needs, introduce myself in person, and determine if we are a match. I look forward to meeting you!

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

Accredited register membership

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy
Accredited Register Scheme

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
