About me

My Pharmacy background has resulted in me having a good understanding about anxiety, depression and other similar conditions and how debilitating they can be. They can impair your quality of life significantly. My role is to ensure you feel valued through actively listening to your story and helping you manage your condition so you can get the most out of life.

I also have experience of working with trauma and I ensure that my counselling skills are tailored in a unique way to your individual needs so that you can transform your pain into learning to thrive.

One of my areas of passion is neurodiversity. I have family members who are autistic and therefore have a good insight into the opportunities and challenges that can be experienced. It can be hard to feel you have to fit into a neurotypical world and I  want to work collaboratively with people who feel they are different to help them accept and value themselves and be their authentic self. I also hope that through my experience I can help family members increase their understanding and acceptance of ADHD, Autism and other conditions.

Please don’t hesitate to contact me if you have any questions via email or you can book an introductory call which is free of charge. It would be lovely to hear from you.

Member organisations

COSCA
College of Sexual and Relationship Therapists (COSCA)

COSCA is the professional body for counselling and psychotherapy in Scotland, and seeks to advance all forms of counselling and psychotherapy and the use of counselling skills by promoting best practice and through the delivery of a range of sustainable services. COSCA Counsellor Accreditation is a pathway to entry onto the UKRC.

It is a requirement of all individual and organisational members of COSCA to abide by its Statement of Ethics and Code of Practice and be accountable to the Complaints Procedure. Accredited by the Professional Standards Authority.

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

Further information

I am a Christian who was trained in integrative counselling from the Christian Perspective. Therefore if you want to include  your faith in the counselling process in terms of connecting to a particular Bible verse, exploring God’s perspective on your situation or that you are feeling a lack of connection with him then I will work collaboratively with you to help you find the answers and solutions you need.
I can also help you with difficult situations that may have arisen as a result of your faith such as spiritual abuse

However if you have a different belief system or come from a non faith background that is great too as I have worked with people form a wide range of backgrounds.
