About me
Have you decided that something needs to change or you need some extra support at this time? Perhaps you are feeling low, uncertain of yourself or dissatisfied with how you are living your life. Welcome. My name is Emma and I provide counselling to individuals aged 18 and above.
After many years working in the corporate world, and more recently as a nutritional therapist, I trained as a Counsellor because I strongly believe in the value, and potential for growth and change, that counselling can bring.
My aim is to create a warm, welcoming environment in which you feel comfortable to explore the things which you feel are holding you back. I am focussed on creating a collaborative talking space with you, potentially enabling insight and a new depth of self understanding.
I have had diverse training and experience in various settings over the years, including working as a counsellor for an Oxford-based charity for 2 years, supporting women who have experienced sexual abuse and violence. I continue my professional development through the BACP and other online and in-person training providers, to ensure that I am up to date with current research relating to the world of Counselling and Psychotherapy.
I am due to commence my Master's (MA) in Counselling and Psychotherapy in 2024.
Here are some of the areas I have worked on with clients:
Low mood/depression
Anxiety/worry/panic/anger
Sexual abuse/violence
Bereavement and loss
Work-related stress, work/life balance
Low self-esteem, low self-worth and confidence issues
Affairs and betrayals
Family/relationship/marital issues
Trauma and PTSD
I work with clients using non-judgemental, sensitive inquiry, thoughtful perception and a genuine desire to understand the challenges or blocks in their life. I am receptive to seeing people beyond how they ostensibly may appear - and aware that they may be suffering in ways which aren't evident at all.
I offer my honesty, integrity and care for you on your journey. I endeavour to create an atmosphere of ease, confidentiality and respect where you feel heard and able to express yourself.
I have a private, dedicated therapy space with off-street parking, situated between Wantage and Newbury (RG20 7BE).
Please contact me today for a free, no-obligation chat, where we can start the conversation about what led you to seeking support.

Member organisations
BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).
Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.
Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.
All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
Accredited register membership
The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
