About me

I'm Emma, welcome to my profile.  I'm a qualified psychotherapeutic counsellor working with adults in-person and online, short and long term.

Many of the people I work with are capable, thoughtful individuals who are managing day-to-day, but feel emotionally fragile, exhausted, dissatisfied or disconnected from themselves.  They may be experiencing depression, anxiety, panic, recurring behavioural issues - or that life feels too much.

Conditions such as these can serve as signals that something is preventing you from thriving.  Whatever the possible causes, feeling able to speak openly and explore your problems with someone uninvolved in your life, perhaps for the first time, can be relieving and grounding.  It may allow you to think more strategically about your life.

My approach is relational and person‑centred, meaning that my focus is on building a genuine relationship with you, whilst offering a warm, compassionate and caring manner.

Beginning counselling can be daunting, but living with unresolved challenges can be more distressing.

Some people need just a handful of sessions to navigate a particular difficulty. Others stay longer and find that returning each week becomes an anchor in itself.  Longer-term work can open up a depth of trust and self-awareness capable of supporting more lasting change.  We can work together to find the right shape and duration for you.

Your first introductory session lasts 55 minutes and costs £30;  here, we can begin the conversation about what you may be looking for from therapy.  This provides a relaxed opportunity for you to get a sense of how I work and how you feel speaking to me.

Once we have agreed to work together, my fee for session two and beyond is £70.  These also last 55 minutes.

Please contact me with any questions or to arrange your introductory session.

I have a special interest in:

Trauma; medical trauma; complex PTSD
Feeling out of balance; dysregulated; trouble managing/controlling emotions
ADHD; Autism
Relationship problems; family dynamics
Self sabotage; defensive behaviours
Existential issues; lack of meaning or purpose
Identity issues; loss of sense of self; life transitions
Burnout; indecision; feeling stuck
Low self-esteem; low self-worth; people-pleasing
Imposter Syndrome

I have a private, dedicated therapy space, with off-street parking, situated between Wantage and Newbury (RG20 7BE).  Please reach out to me if you would like to discuss working together.
