About me

I am an integrative counsellor and psychotherapist trained in person-centred and psychodynamic approaches. My approach is relational, meaning I believe that it is the quality of our relationship with ourselves and others that impacts our mental and physical wellbeing. I believe that the relationship between client and therapist is where the healing happens. I like to work in a very warm and collaborative way with my clients, where safety and trust is paramount. To me, therapy is a confidential space where we can be human together. We will acknowledge and accept all of your parts, from the wonderful to the painful, with kindness and curiosity.

I am committed to understanding the full scope of your experiences and challenges, at a pace that feels comfortable to you. I will offer you the opportunity to dive into your present context and environment through a holistic lens, exploring your current thoughts, feelings and behaviours. I will also offer you the space to consider how past relationships may be impacting your current ones, which will include an exploration of your intergenerational and transgenerational history. My hopes and aims are to assist my clients' in cultivating healthier relationships with themselves and others, which in turn will enhance their quality of life.

With these principles in mind, my aim is to develop a therapeutic relationship founded on care, honesty, and openness. With real honesty comes the challenge. I believe that true and enduring change arises in those confronting moments. My approach to this process can often be direct but is always free of judgment and full of support and empathy. My intention is to walk alongside my clients on the journey toward more self-acceptance, empowerment and resilience. Finding moments of creativity and joy whilst navigating the paradoxical complexities of life is incredibly important to me, demonstrating humility and patience throughout.

Training, qualifications & experience

I have a Masters in Integrative Counselling and Psychotherapy completed at Roehampton University in London.

I have experience of working as an EAP (employee assistance programme) therapist, supporting clients with a wide range of personal and work related issues.

I have previously worked as a therapist for Mind which was an NHS Talking Therapies service based in East London, as well as working in local community services in South East Kent. I have experience of working with clients short term and long term from a variety of different backgrounds and cultures.

I also have considerable experience of working in a category A, high security male prison in London as a recovery worker for a charity. This involved working therapeutically with men regarding their alcohol and drug misuse issues in a one to one setting as well as group settings. Previous to this I was a tutor and supported large groups of adults from disadvantaged backgrounds with practical and relational skills to help them gain employment. This involved delivering intensive 4 week programmes as well as supporting the students one to one.

These roles have allowed me the privilege to work with clients from a diverse range of cultures and backgrounds, all with very different experiences and struggles.

I studied illustration for my undergraduate degree, so I have a keen interest in how creativity in all forms can contribute to the healing process.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

Accredited register membership

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy
Accredited Register Scheme

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
