About me

Are you feeling anxious? Struggling to find motivation or just feeling like you need a safe, non judgemental space to explore your feelings and express yourself.

Counselling (also known as therapy) can mean different things to different people, but generally, it is something people seek when they want to change a certain aspect of their life, need support, or because they want to explore and understand their thoughts and feelings more closely.

My name is Emily  I am a Qualified and insured counsellor, and member of the BACP (British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy) and after having therapy myself over 10 years ago and the change it brought to my life

Counselling can help you cope with:

A mental health condition, such as depression or anxiety
An upsetting physical health condition, such as infertility
A difficult life event, such as a bereavement, a relationship breakdown or work-related stress
Difficult emotions – for example, low self-esteem or anger
& other issues, such as sexual identity

I also have a specialist qualification in Pet Bereavement Therapy which is a topic very close to my heart. I offer a safe and comfortable space for you to explore issues you may be experiencing, life changes you may want to make or goals you may wish to achieve. We can explore strategies to use in life and also discuss past events.

Training, qualifications & experience

I am trained in person centred, cognitive behavioural therapy & transactional analysis therapy. Experience working with depression, anxiety, bereavement, substance abuse, childhood trauma, work related stress and many other issues.

Pet Bereavement Therapy 🦄
I also have a specialist qualification in Pet Bereavement Therapy alongside being a fully qualified and insured Therapeutic Counsellor. This is something that is very close to my heart as an animal lover & I feel like it’s something that needs sensitive and an understanding of the human/animal connection for the therapeutic process.
If you would like any more information on this service please message me

I have membership with the BACP( British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy) and I adhere to their ethical guidelines.

Member organisations

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
