About us

Hello. Welcome to Embrace You.

Life can be hard, scary, tough and extremely busy. We can sometimes be expected to power through and keep going and maybe not show others what we are struggling with. We may be scared that people will judge us or that we will look weak for not coping.

But sometimes we all need a little help. That's ok. It is not a weakness to ask for support. But it can be hard to make that first step. In reading this, you are taking that first stride forward.

Embrace you offers counselling in a warm, welcoming, safe space, working in a down to earth relational way, enabling you to talk about whatever you would like to confidentially. It can sometimes be difficult talking to someone you do not know and building up a safe, trusting relationship. This is understandable. You are free to move at the pace that suits you, enabling us to work together and build up a good relationship.

You can email or call for a free 15 minute chat to enable you to ask any questions you may have. Following this, if you decide to proceed, a full initial assessment can be arranged. This assessment takes place to gain a full picture of the things that have brought you to counselling, areas from the past, what may be happening now or fears for the future. It is also good to have an idea of what goals you may have entering into therapy, to enable us to work towards this.

Member organisations *

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

We have verified that at least one professional at this organisation is registered with the relevant professional body.
