About me

Psychotherapy & counselling in Finsbury Park & Kings Cross/Angel.                  We all experience periods in our lives where perhaps we are overwhelmed by difficult feelings or stuck in repetitive ways of behaving that leave us feeling unfulfilled. If you are suffering from anxiety or depression therapy can provide a safe space for you to explore your feelings and this can help you to develop a better understanding of yourself allowing you to make your own choices for a more fulfilling life.

I am a BACP registered integrative psychotherapist & counsellor working with clients on a board range of subjects including anxiety, depression, anger, grief and self esteem issues.

My unique way of working mixes traditional psychotherapeutic theories with cutting-edge, evidence-based techniques into a style that feels relatable, down to earth and compassionate.

We are all different and as an integrative psychotherapist I draw on a range of approaches which I adjust depending on your needs. My model uses ideas from humanistic, psychodynamic and relational theory. I also work with dreams to explore unconscious processes and help understand current patterns and behaviours. I believe that the development of a trusting relationship between the client and therapist is central to therapeutic work and I offer a safe, non judgemental space for you to work with me.

I will work collaboratively with you which means we will often use what happens in the therapy room to explore the issues you are struggling with in your own life. I may challenge you compassionately at times but will work at a pace which you can manage. Together we can look at the problematic ways of thinking about yourself and others which may have contributed to your difficulties. While therapy cannot change the past, the process of sharing your thoughts can enable you take on different perspectives, helping you to explore a greater range of possibilities with which to move forward.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
