About me

Greetings, I’m Dinah an integrative counsellor and registered member of the BACP (British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy), committed to providing compassionate support and guidance to individuals seeking healing and growth. I bring a holistic approach to counselling, tailoring my methods to meet the unique needs of each client.

My journey in counselling began with a deep passion for understanding the human psyche and a desire to make a positive impact on people’s lives. I currently serve as a dedicated school counsellor, where I have the privilege of working with young people aged 11-18. Alongside my role in the educational setting, I maintain a private practice, welcoming individuals from diverse backgrounds and age groups.

In my practice, I firmly believe in the power of the therapeutic relationship as the foundation for meaningful counselling work. I strive to create a warm, non-judgmental, and safe space where clients feel heard, valued, and supported. By fostering a strong therapeutic alliance, I aim to empower individuals to explore their innermost thoughts and emotions, navigate life’s challenges, and discover their inherent resilience and strength.

My approach integrates various therapeutic modalities, including psychodynamic therapy, cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT), and person-centered therapy, to tailor treatment to each client’s unique needs. Whether you’re struggling with depression, anxiety, relationship issues, or navigating life transitions, I am here to walk alongside you on your journey towards healing and personal growth. Together, let’s embark on a path of self-discovery and empowerment.

Assessment

The assessment serves as an opportunity to delve deeper into why you’re seeking counseling, gather background information, and determine if counseling is the appropriate intervention for you. It’s a collaborative process aimed at understanding your needs and goals, ensuring that we embark on a journey tailored to your unique circumstances.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
