About me
What I can help with
I work with people facing a wide variety of difficulties. I am experienced in working with students and adults of all ages who are struggling with anxiety and low mood or in their relationships with others, who are facing life transitions, feeling ‘stuck’ in their lives, or simply wanting to find a way to live life on their own terms.
How I work and what to expect
You may be new to counselling and have a desire to really understand yourself and make changes. You may have tried counselling before and want to explore your issues more deeply. I will listen attentively and work collaboratively with you in a psychodynamic way to help you reach a better understanding of yourself and what may be getting in the way of you making changes. Together we'll think about how past and present may be impacting on your life, so that you can begin to free yourself from your anxieties and old patterns of relating, build your self-confidence and have more fulfilling relationships.
Where I work
I offer a compassionate, confidential space to talk in person at my practice based in comfortable rooms in Kings heath and near Harborne on weekdays/ evenings. I also offer online sessions nationwide if preferred.
Please text or email me to arrange a free 15-minute phone call and talk about how we can work together - 01564 334909

My training included having 160 hours of personal personal therapy to ensure awareness of my own issues and provide me with experience in 'the other chair'. I have regular support in my work from a qualified supervisor.
I also bring my experience from an academic background in Psychology and from working in education for many years - in teaching Psychology, leadership and pastoral roles, school counselling and training students as peer educators in mental health

Member organisations

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
