About me

I'm here if there's something you want to understand better or change. I can help you move from feeling confused, stuck or overwhelmed... to a place where things make sense, there’s a way forward, and you feel in charge of your life.  My goal is to make therapy a collaborative, empowering and transformative experience, which will help you feel freer and better equipped to deal with life’s challenges and changes.

I'm a fully qualified Integrative counsellor providing face-to-face or online individual therapy for adults, both short-term and open-ended.

With an open-minded and gentle approach, I combine different types of therapy, because I believe there’s lots of different ways of looking at any difficulty - it all depends on the individual and their situation. But usually I focus on:

  • Appreciating all the different aspects of yourself - the ways you've adapted to your world to survive so far, and how they can sometimes serve you well and other times hold you back.  You already know yourself and your history pretty well, but you'll be surprised how much you've taken for granted.
  • Building a warm and productive working relationship between the two of us. It's important you feel supported, safe, and that you and everything you say really matters. It means opening up and taking risks becomes easier and more comfortable - with me but also with others.
  • You take the lead - you're the person who's going to change things in your life and I am there to facilitate that. I won't give you advice or opinions, push you out of your depth or analyse / interpret everything you say; I help you come up with your own answers, at your own pace.

If you'd like to find out if I'd be the right person to work with, send me an email or leave me a voicemail asking for an initial consultation, and any questions you have, and I will get back to you within 48 hours with my next available sessions.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

Accredited Register Scheme

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
