About me
I understand how hard the first step can be to ask for help, sometimes you just want to be heard and feel listened too ....you may be feeling depressed, anxious, angry, or frustrated with moving your life forward....You may be feeling confused, and unsure about where your life is heading........
I can help you become stronger and find new ways of coping, whilst understanding yourself, and others around you.
You are a unique person, and by reading how I can help, you have already began your unique journey of recovery understanding and healing, taking that important first step is about taking back control over your life’s challenging, difficult and distressing times.
I aim to make myself available and open to engage you in a relationship which will develop new capacities of thought for you, personal growth and understanding.
You need to feel confident that who you choose to help you, is appropriately trained and qualified, and is someone who you feel comfortable with, and can trust.
I am a qualified integrative counsellor, and have extensive experience working in the private, and public sector. I provide therapy to people from all different walks of life, and have helped people come to terms with difficult life events, and gain a clearer understanding of themselves, enabling them to make positive changes and move forward in their life.
I have a warm, positive and practical down to earth approach, providing a blend of therapy approaches, tailoring the therapy to you as an individual. Using different approaches appropriately and at the right time will enable you to quickly start to gain benefit from the therapy process.
I have helped people with a wide range of problems, such as Depression, Anxiety, Stress, Bereavement or loss, or because they are going through a difficult time and finding life a struggle to cope with or to see things clearly.
I provide counselling for couples and relationships, helping people move forward as individuals as well as in their relationship as an intimate couple. I also provide relationship counselling for families, responding to requests to develop new ways of relating to each other. When I meet a couple for the first time, I aim to engage in a productive and enhancing way, listening and tailoring my approach to enable them to make the right step towards leading a more satisfied resourceful life.
I aim to provide a safe and comfortable environment, which is private and confidential where you can relax and take time out from your life to explore and discuss the concerns that are troubling you. Sometimes I may offer you a different perspective, or suggestion that enables a deeper exploration of the issue or the challenge you are dealing with, which sometimes provides a point for self-reflection encouraging clearer understanding and change to start!
I aim to help you by increasing your resilience, understanding, and self - belief whilst identifying and cultivating your inner resources and strengths that may have become depleted by negative life experiences.
You have the right to choose more resourceful beliefs that are not limiting you in moving forward in your life, and I believe you don’t have to be stuck with unresourceful beliefs that are no longer working for you.
Just start to Imagine, by exploring how different your life could be, start to believe that you can create a life you want, and then start to do so..Benjamin Disraeli once said 'There is no happiness without action'
There is an abundance of life paths for you to create and follow, aiming for you to move forward in your life, it would be a privilege to work with you.

Member organisations

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)
BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).
Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.
Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.
All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
Accredited register membership

Accredited Register Scheme
The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

The Happiness Concern
I decided to call my practice The Happiness Concern as I think this reflects the blend of counselling and coaching approaches I use. Blending together the practical and dynamic approach of coaching, NLP which stands for Neuro-Linguistic-Programming, and positive psychology, alongside the caring and reparative healing approach of counselling.
I am passionate about enabling people to find their own life of happiness that is sustaining and lasting, helping them move forward, in a practical and real way. The Happiness Concern ethos is to help people have the internal resources, choices and confidence to move forward in their life.
