About me

Looking for a therapist on a site like this can feel quite daunting, or even a bit overwhelming - I get that, as I've been there myself. You might be wondering if I'm the right fit for you. If any of the below resonate, I could be:

  • You’re in your 20s or 30s and you’re looking for a therapist who feels a bit more relatable
  • You’re looking for therapy that doesn’t feel too clinical or formal - you want a real human connection
  • You want to work with a queer therapist.

I often work with clients who are just about coping with day-to-day life but who are feeling like there’s something they want to heal from, reflect on or change.

It could be that you’ve had a painful life transition, like a break-up, or a loss. It could be that you want a supportive space to explore current or past experiences. It may be that you’re noticing behavioural or relational patterns that you want to work on. Perhaps you’re feeling stuck, and want some help getting unstuck.

I’ve been lucky enough to be a therapist for six years now, and I’ve worked with people facing all different kinds of challenges. Some of the more common ones are:

  • Anxiety
  • Low mood or depression
  • Stress
  • Loss
  • Relationship issues
  • Sexuality and gender identity
  • Family issues
  • Low self-esteem and low self-confidence.

I particularly like supporting people to develop kinder, more accepting relationships with themselves, and this tends to be a theme and focus in my work.

Who am I?

My journey as a therapist began in 2018 when I realised how much I enjoy helping people to heal, grow and overcome the challenges they’re facing. The deeper I went into my training, the more I realised that therapy was the career for me, so I left my job in education and set up my private practice, Keep Growing Therapy.

Over the years, I’ve provided therapy in various settings, including with survivors of domestic abuse and an LGBTQ+ counselling service. I’ve learned from every client I’ve worked with and I’m grateful to have worked with a wide range of people. I love what I do!

When I’m not working, you’ll often find me out in nature, being a very average plant mum, learning Spanish or setting myself a new challenge.

How do I work?

Clients have described me as compassionate, calm and supportive. I care hugely about the clients I work with and, especially in these isolated and digital times, I think it’s the relationship we build together that makes the biggest difference in therapy. Sometimes we all need a safe space where we can heal our wounds, speak openly about what’s going on for us and be supported through difficult times, without worrying that we’ll be judged or shamed.

I’ll work with you to come to a deeper understanding of the challenges or difficulties you’re experiencing. We’ll identify new perspectives or approaches that can help you move forwards and which will empower you to make positive changes in your life.

I think therapy works best when there's a good balance of support and challenge, so this is something I'll always try to offer you.

Some clients have told me that they didn’t have enough back-and-forth with previous therapists - hopefully you will find that I’m very involved and engaged in our work together. It’s a two-way exchange.

Every client is unique, so I’ll always tailor my approach to make your sessions work best for you.

These are some of the things clients have said about working with me:

  • "I would highly recommend Corinna for her inclusive practice, genuine care and warm nature, I felt so supported and protected during our therapy sessions. I have been able to identify reasons and sources of my self critical voice, and worked with Corinna to create habits of quieting that voice."
  • “Corinna was the perfect mix of caring and professional which allowed me to relax and talk openly and honestly about everything. The care, effort and compassion offered to me is something that will stay with me forever.”
  • “Working with Corinna has given me the strength and confidence to feel that I can tackle any challenge head on. Everyone from my family to my colleagues have noticed a positive change within myself and I will be forever grateful to Corinna for her help and supportive encouragement.”

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
