About me

Hi there, how are you?

No, how are you really?

Sometimes there are too many words and sometimes there are no words. Sometimes it’s just a feeling on the inside or a weight on the outside. Or maybe it is more identifiable for you... Whatever it feels like for you, I'm here for you and I'm ready to listen and you will be heard. Therapy here can provide you with the time, space, and opportunity to work through whatever you need. Although therapy can sometimes be a painful and difficult process (I know from experience), therapy can help you regain control and enjoy life.

Who I am:

My name is Coral, and I am a Neurodiverse person and qualified Person-Centred therapist. I am in my late 20's and I qualified as a therapist with Distinction in June 2020 after first having studied a Philosophy BA receiving a 2:1. Being Person-Centred and coming from a philosophical background, I am trained in a way that focuses on you and your needs and we (you and I together), undertake therapy at your pace and in your world. Being Neurodiverse myself (I have ADHD, dyslexia, and dyspraxia), I have a special interest and understanding in working with other Neurodiverse people - although I am open to working with all kinds of clients. I am also registered with the British Association of Counsellors and Psychotherapists (BACP), as well as being fully insured.

There is no judgement or agenda here, this is a space for you to just be. The space is non-directive and we can work in any way that works for you (e.g. with art materials, games, music), you can even attend in pyjamas and not say a single word if that's what you need. And in that space, we can work together through your emotions, thoughts, and feelings to help you explore, reflect, accept, and grow. I am not afraid to ask you the difficult questions if needed but will do so in a supportive manner. In doing so, this can bring understanding, self-awareness, clarity, acceptance, and motivation to your life. After all, this is your life, no one else's and you deserve to live it free from the expectations of others and knowing you are enough - (it's true, you really are enough)!

How I work:

I work online and via telephone, so sessions would take place over the phone or as a video call on a secure platform. I am insured and use encrypted email software. Don't worry if a video call feels confusing and daunting, I'm here to help!

Fees & The First Session:

Standard fees are £60 for a 50-minute session.

I offer reduced rates for those in need - please contact me for further details.

If you would like to find out more about me, my work and what I can do for you then please get in touch. I offer a free 15-minute initial consultation via video call or telephone.

During the consultation, you will have the opportunity to hear more about the way in which I work, ask any questions and get a feel of what our work together would look like.

During the first session, I will go through some questions with you about your background, your current situation and your issues. This helps me work out how I can best support you. Of course, if there is anything you do not wish to answer you do not have to.

Please do get in touch, I would love to hear from you - and hey, well done for taking this step, I know from my own experience that the first step can be the hardest.

I look forward to hearing from you and take care,

Coral

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

Accredited register membership

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy
Accredited Register Scheme

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
