About me

I am a qualified and experienced, BACP registered Counsellor and Psychotherapist. I offer counselling sessions to individual adults on a long or short-term basis through my private practice in Tooting and outdoors in Wimbledon and Morden. I also offer sessions online.

We all encounter difficult situations, face challenges in our relationships and experience troubling feelings, thoughts and behaviours. Whatever you're struggling with, therapy can help. I have worked with clients impacted by various concerns, including relationship abuse and control, traumatic events, grief and loss, life transitions, chronic illnesses, identity concerns, anger issues, depression and anxiety.

I aim to help you nurture the most important relationship in your life – the one you have with yourself.

My Approach

Using an integrative and relational approach, I draw on different philosophies and techniques according to your individual needs and preferred ways of working. These include humanistic, psychodynamic, cognitive behaviour therapy (CBT), mindfulness and the mind-body connection. I also work with Internal Family Systems, a way of considering the self as made up of different parts, the distressed part being just one of them.

At the heart of my approach is a belief that our culture, environment, experiences and relationships - past and present - have an impact on who, and how, we are today. By exploring these aspects of the self, we can begin to accept ourselves and open-up to our limitless potential.

I believe that a strong relationship between therapist and client, based on honesty and empathy, is the key to achieving this. Working collaboratively and at your own pace, we will continually adapt the therapy to meet your moment-to-moment needs.

Training, qualifications & experience

  • MA in Integrative Counselling and Psychotherapy -  University of Roehampton

As a therapist I have extensive experience of working with the voluntary sector, with a particular focus on those affected by domestic abuse and/or navigating crisis situations.

I also continue to work on my own personal development and am currently taking courses to enhance my knowledge and skills when working with trauma, and in eco-therapy to further develop my walk and talk practice.

With previous experience in differing workplaces such as media, government and international development, including humanitarian work in conflict-affected areas, I appreciate the pressures of balancing personal, work and familial needs, and managing tricky relationships.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
