About me

People come to therapy for all sorts of reasons. Some may want a space to discuss difficulties they are having in life, for example, their relationships or issues at work. Others may be experiencing unexpected life events that throw them for a loop, such as bereavement or news of infertility or illness. Others may have a sense that their relationship with themselves is not what they want it to be, or may be dealing with symptoms of depression or anxiety, and therefore are curious about understanding and exploring their inner selves.

In a world that can be harsh and painful, you may have, unknowingly, felt the need to hide parts of yourself. However, the beauty of therapy is that you are invited to bring your whole self, even the parts you may not particularly like or have hidden away. Together we can discuss your issues in a space where you will be met with compassion and acceptance.

I am a qualified integrative therapist who mostly draws from psychodynamic theory. I work with the understanding that our pasts largely inform our present experiences. Therefore, I find it useful to help clients sort through and explore their past because doing this paves the way for a greater understanding of one's self, often impacting one's relationships and sense of meaning.

I offer prospective clients a free 15-minute telephone consultation so I can hear more about you and answer any questions you might have about starting therapy. I feel that it's important to have a conversation before committing to the therapy process.

The initial session is an opportunity to see how we can work together, explore your expectations and desired outcomes from therapy, and for you to ask any questions you may have regarding the process. Offering you a safe space to be seen and heard is my top priority.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

Accredited Register Scheme

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
