About me

Admitting you're not OK and that you need some support is very difficult. It has taken courage for you to be here today reading my profile.

When looking at a sea of counsellor profiles it can feel confusing and overwhelming. I have tried to use headers and bullet points to make it easier for you to gather information you may be searching for. However, if you're left with questions or uncertainty please do contact me, I'm happy to answer all of your questions and concerns.

What I Offer:

  • A confidential environment.
  • A space to feel safe.
  • Short-term or open ended Counselling.
  • Sessions in-person or online.

Age I Can Work With:

  • Anyone over the age of 12 years old.

How I work:
As an Integrative Counsellor, I work in a number of ways. I am able to pull on strings of counselling approaches and tailor therapy to your individual needs, ensuring you get the most out of your counselling journey.

I am predominantly person-centred which means that I work at your pace and ensure we work on what you (the client) wants to work on. This approach gives you the opportunity to explore your thoughts and feelings whilst being empathically understood in a safe environment.

I also work Psychodynamically which means we can work with your past, explore your self-awareness and understand how past events influence present behaviours.

First Contact/Appointment:
I offer a FREE 20 minute appointment which is an opportunity to get a feel how I work. This is also where I can find out more about you and what you want to gain from counselling with me.  From here we can decide if I'm the right counsellor for you and how we can best work together.

If this sounds like the type of Counselling you're wanting please don't hesitate to contact me.  You can either send me an email, text or call me. I will respond to all as soon as I can (usually the same day).

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
