About me

Admitting you're not OK and that you need some support is very difficult and it is important that we acknowledge the courage it took.

I am able to offer you a confidential, safe and non-judgemental environment.

I am able to work with anyone over the age of 12 years old and there is no age limit.

I am a qualified Integrative Counsellor. This means that I work in a number of ways but I predominantly cover Person-centered and Psychodynamic. I am also trained in Existential therapy and I have some knowledge of CBT (Cognitive Behavioural Therapy).

Being able to pull on strings of approaches means I am able to tailor therapy to individuals ensuring you get the most out of your counselling journey.

Being predominantly person-centered means that I work at your pace and ensure we work on what you (the client) wants to work on. This approach gives you the opportunity to explore your thoughts and feelings and be empathically understood in a safe environment.

Pulling in Psychodynamic means that we work with your past, look at your self-awareness and understanding of how past events influence present behaviours.

Counselling can be short-term or open ended.

We will meet for an initial assessment first. This is where I can find out more about you and what you want to gain from counselling with me. You will also find out more about the counselling I provide.
From here we can decide if I'm the right counsellor for you and how we can best work together.

If this sounds like the type of Counselling you're after please don't hesitate to contact me. I am happy to answer any of the questions you have. You can either send me an email, text or call me. I will respond to all as soon as I can (usually the same day).

Member organisations

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy

BACP is one of the UK’s largest professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy. Therapists registered with the Association fall into a number of different membership categories such as Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP and Registered Member MBACP (Accred), each standing for different levels of training and experience. MBACP (Accred) and MBACP (Snr Accred) members have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by the Association.

Registered members can be found on the BACP Register, which was the first register to achieve Accredited Voluntary Register status issued by the Professional Standards Authority. Individual Members will have completed an appropriate counselling and/or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but will not appear on the BACP Register until they've progressed to Registered Member MBACP status.

All members are bound by a Code of Ethics & Practice and a Complaints Procedure. Accredited by the Professional Standards Authority.

I understand some people are uncomfortable on the telephone or video call so I am open to this communication being done via email. This is also an opportunity for me to get an idea of your struggles and decide if an assessment would be suitable.

Sessions: £40
These sessions are on a set day and at a set time. However, for those that work shift patterns if availability allows I will work around this. These sessions are 50 minutes.

I work from a cabin in my garden. It's a quiet location with ample free parking. The area is accessible by bus but there is a short, up-hill walk from the bus stop to the cabin.

I am able to offer sessions at the Bedwell Community Centre if an access ramp is required.

Wheelchair user access

Wheelchair user access

Wheelchair-accessible premises should have step-free access for wheelchair users and individuals who are unable to climb stairs. If a counsellor's premises aren't step-free, they may offer alternative services such as telephone/web-based appointments, home visits, or meeting clients in different location, so you can choose the option that suits you best.

You can contact the counsellor to discuss the options available.

Under the Equality Act 2010 service providers have a duty to make reasonable adjustments to ensure that individuals with disabilities can access their service. You can read more about reasonable adjustments to help you to access services on the CAB website.

Unfortunately my cabin is not wheelchair accessible however I do have access to another room in Bedwell, Stevenage which has an access ramp if required.
