Charlotte Braithwaite, Psychotherapist & Coach (MBACP, Dip.,)
An experienced psychotherapist and coach, I draw upon both traditional and existential models of psychology to help you cultivate conscious awareness, self-connection and courage in life's challenges.
Whether you are struggling with difficult family dynamics, relationship breakdown, work stress, loss of a loved one or feeling lost in yourself, allowing yourself the space and time to process experiences, heal from history and move forward with clarity is one of the greatest gifts that you can give to yourself and those you love.
I understand inner conflict and mental health related symptoms (such as anxiety, depression etc) as 'messages' from our unconscious that there is a dis-connect from our authentic and essential self. By exploring unconscious mindsets, early experiences and relationship dynamics, I help you to identify the cause of these symptoms and cultivate conscious healthy changes that can facilitate a life of value, meaning and purpose.
My Role & Outcomes
My role is to journey alongside you, at your pace, as you process experiences and aspects of your life; guiding you to untangle the past from the present, heal from history, and expand your vision of who you really are and all that you can become. The therapeutic process presents opportunity for life-long transformation, with increased emotional resilience and capacity to manage life challenges. Clients are empowered to own their story, grow from challenge and move forward in courage.
How I Work
I offer both online and face to face sessions. Those who are local are welcome to my private practice, held in a cosy Summer House in my garden, providing a discreet, comfortable and confidential space. Daytime and evening appointments are available and there is free parking.
Working one-to-one with individuals, I offer open-ended counselling, as well as focused therapeutic coaching programmes tailored to each client's unique needs.
*I offer a FREE 15 minute discovery call so that you can ask any questions you may have and find out further information.

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy
BACP is one of the UK’s largest professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy. Therapists registered with the Association fall into a number of different membership categories such as Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP and Registered Member MBACP (Accred), each standing for different levels of training and experience. MBACP (Accred) and MBACP (Snr Accred) members have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by the Association.
Registered members can be found on the BACP Register, which was the first register to achieve Accredited Voluntary Register status issued by the Professional Standards Authority. Individual Members will have completed an appropriate counselling and/or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but will not appear on the BACP Register until they've progressed to Registered Member MBACP status.
All members are bound by a Code of Ethics & Practice and a Complaints Procedure. Accredited by the Professional Standards Authority.
