About me

Hello, I’m Celia, I am an integrative therapist based in Rothley, Leicestershire. It is important to me to offer you a counselling experience that is non-judgmental, compassionate, and caring. I have experience working with different theories, approaches, and techniques and together we can explore which is the best fit for you. I ensure I work within the ethical framework set out by the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP). My aim is for you to feel heard in a safe space provided by me, this can be face-to-face, online or via the telephone. I hope that you will feel supported by me in our work together.

People seek therapy for many different reasons, for instance, due to stress, depression, anxiety, loss/grief or facing a major life-changing event. Perhaps you are experiencing family or relationship issues or problems involving money or work difficulties. Are you struggling with low self-esteem or low confidence? Have you recently been diagnosed with Autism or ADHD? Whatever your reason, rest assured that I am here to support you along the way. Sometimes help in the form of professional support can be just what is needed.

I am currently working with young people aged 16+ and adults. I have experience working with a wide range of problems including depression, anxiety, grief/loss, personal and relationship issues, family problems, work-related stress, and emotional, financial, and sexual abuse. I have a speciality in working with people facing illness, especially cancer, including relatives affected by this issue. I am aware of how difficult it is to reach out when you are struggling but we can work together to help you move forward. Please get in touch, I look forward to hearing from you.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

Accredited register membership

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy
Accredited Register Scheme

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
