About me

Life can often leave us feeling overwhelmed and unable to cope. At times like these, we just need a safe space where we can breathe and let out our emotions without feeling criticised, judged and alone. I can help by providing that space where you can talk freely about whatever is troubling you. If you have feelings of anxiety, low mood, or depression, I can support you and working together, I can provide you with the tools to help you experience life in a more positive way.

I am trained as a person-centred counsellor, which simply means our sessions are all about you. I currently offer my counselling sessions in person at my practice in Crossgates LS15. I can also provide online and telephone appointments which offers flexibility for busy lifestyles.

Therapy isn't a one size fits all and I always adapt the therapy to suit you. I can help you to find new ways of coping, create your own solutions, and find acceptance. I understand that we all need support at times, and it can be difficult seeking out support, but you are welcome to contact me with questions about how I work.

I have lived experience of ADHD, my son received a late diagnosis after struggling for years and trying to work out what was wrong.  I also realised my own diagnosis going through this process with him. I am able to work effectively and empathetically with adults and young people in similar situations, to process their own diagnoses and also with parents who are struggling with their children's diagnoses.

BACP

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
