About me

My name is Catherine Graves, and I am a psychodynamic psychotherapist working with adults in open ended and short-term therapy at Haggerston HQ and St Pauls.

I am an accredited member of UKCP (United Kingdom Council for Psychotherapy) and fully adhere to their code of ethics.

I work with clients from a variety of cultures and backgrounds, at different stages of their lives who present a range of emotional difficulties.

Together we can explore experiences from both past and present, in a non-judgmental, confidential, safe space to try and observe how they may inform the motivations behind behaviours that frustrate and confuse our lives.

Training, qualifications & experience

I trained at WPF where I worked in their clinic for 4 years, I also have experience of working at Maytree a suicidal residential respite centre. I now work in private practice.

Sessions are 50 mins long on a weekly basis. I offer open-ended or short-term therapy (more focused), in person and online, where appropriate.

I have full insurance, my work is supervised on a weekly basis and I continue to attend workshops and seminars to continue my professional development.

Being registered/accredited with a professional body means an individual must have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by their member organisation.

UKCP
UK Council for Psychotherapy (UKCP)

The UK Council for Psychotherapy (UKCP) is a leading professional body for the education, training and regulation of psychotherapists and psychotherapeutic counsellors. Its register is accredited by the government's Professional Standards Authority.

As part of its commitment to protect the public, it works to improve access to psychotherapy, to support and disseminate research, to improve standards and to respond effectively to complaints against its members.

UKCP standards cover the range of different psychotherapies. Registration is obtained by training or accrediting with one of its member organisations, or by holding a European Certificate in Psychotherapy. Accredited by the Professional Standards Authority.
