About me
Share Your Burdens In Safety
Are you overwhelmed by stress, self-criticism, anxiety, lack confidence or feel sad, miserable or angry too much of the time? Perhaps you’re struggling with a painful loss, a life transition or any other challenging disruption that's created an unexpected or daunting future for you. Maybe you're lonely, or exhausted by a relentless drive to meet demanding standards so nothing you achieve is ever enough to feel fulfilled and peaceful. Any of these emotions could leave you feeling tired all the time and unmotivated, perhaps sleeping too much or not enough.
I can help you detangle your thoughts, learn to manage those awful feelings and decide if, or what, you want to change so you can begin to thrive again.
Everybody needs to be really heard and understood. Counselling with me, someone entirely outside your social network, gives you the relief of being able to express yourself fully, without the worry that sharing difficult feelings with a friend or family member will worry or upset them. With me, you’re safe to explore any aspect of your life knowing I'm truly listening and on your side.
I can help you get a new perspective and develop the skills you need to move you towards the life you want and the person you would like to be. I can help you to recognise and build your strengths and resources, including those you perhaps aren’t aware of right now. My aim is that clients leave therapy feeling optimistic, confident and able to maintain their balance, no matter what the future holds.
Flexible Yet Structured To Meet Your Needs
I can work in the style that best helps you realise your hopes for therapy – whether that’s as a trusted confidante who can listen with empathy, warmth and kindness or as a guide supporting you through a structured process to achieve specific changes. Or a bit of both. Together, we'll create the treatment approach that’s right for you, with regular reviews to make sure it’s on track.
I work online or by phone and have appointments before, during and after standard working hours (7.30am to 9pm) as well as Saturday afternoons making it easier for you to get help at a time that suits you. You can overcome the pain you're feeling and find your balance, and from a safe and convenient place of your choice.

Training, qualifications & experience
I have a Foundation degree in Integrative Counselling Practice and also use elements of my Honours degree in Philosophy. I am qualified to work with a range of presenting problems, often manifesting as anxiety, anger, depression or low self-esteem although with a variety of root causes. In particular, I can bring the experience of thirty years working in the corporate sector to a particular focus on work-related stress. I fully understand the distortions of values and identity that earning a living, and major life transitions, can inflict on us.
I also have specific experience of working with insomnia and existential concerns like 'death anxiety' and what constitutes a meaningful, purposeful life and legacy.
Member organisations
BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
Accredited register membership
The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
