About me

Reasons for seeking counselling may vary and these could include a wide range of psychological or emotional distress as well as the need to explore your life more deeply or reflect on particular life decisions or dilemmas.

The way we approach challenges in life and the thoughts, feelings and behaviours that arise from them can sometimes be the source of further suffering which can be experienced as shame, self-criticism, isolation, self-loathing, self-blame and deep emotional suffering.

Psychotherapy is an opportunity to explore and become aware of the way we relate and respond to our world as well as the narratives we create about our lives. By committing to this exploratory work, it is possible, through mindful and compassionate awareness, to identify the patterns that create suffering and despair.

Psychotherapy enables the ability to identify and name our experiences in a safe and non-judgemental space, whether these are deep-rooted emotions or limiting beliefs about ourselves and the world. Through this awareness, a new perspective can emerge, which can lead to positive changes and a better relationship with ourselves and others.

Training, qualifications & experience

I am an HCPC registered Counselling Psychologist and UKCP accredited Psychotherapist. I have worked for the NHS for several years as well as for several mental health charities.

I have experience working with clients with a wide range of issues such as depression, anxiety, bereavement and loss, abuse, trauma, relationship issues, women’s health, cancer and chronic health conditions.

My approach to therapy has been influenced by existential philosophy as well as psychological models, such as psychodynamic theories, CBT, Mindfulness-Based Therapy and Compassion-Focused Therapy.

I also use a relational centred approach where I see the therapy as a co-created, evolving process to which both therapist and client contribute. As a therapist, I offer you an opportunity to do this, in a confidential, compassionate and non-judgemental way.

  • Doctorate in Counselling Psychology, NSPC & Middlesex University
  • Post Graduate Diploma in Psychotherapy and Counselling, NSPC & Middlesex University
  • Diploma in Clinical Hypnosis, ICH, London

I offer weekly sessions of 50 minutes and I can provide short-term and long-term therapy in English and Spanish.

Member organisations

Registered / Accredited

Registered / Accredited

Being registered/accredited with a professional body means an individual must have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by their member organisation.

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
