About me

Hi there,

My name is Caroline and I am a Person Centred Psychotherapist and founder of Heart Centred Therapy for Women.

What I do

I guide women back into connection with the heart of who they are so that they can form loving relationships with themselves, overcome challenges and create fulfilling lives.

You have taken a really big and courageous step today in reaching out for support and acknowledging that you are struggling. I know how hard that can feel. I am celebrating you for listening to that little voice inside that guided you to take this step. I am glad you have found me and thank you for taking the time to read my profile.

I believe that every woman is worthy of support and capable of creating a life that lights her up. I know however, that life challenges and trauma have a way of steering us off path and disconnecting us from the heart of who we are.

How I work.

I work in a warm, compassionate and empowering way that has the relationship that we build together at the centre of it. I care about my clients and pride myself on my ability to create a relationship where you feel safe with me to be yourself, all of you is welcome, exactly as you are. Through therapy I am here to create a safe and supportive space for you to get back in touch with the most authentic version of you so that you can walk your own path with courage and confidence.

Issues I can support you with.

I have dedicated my career to holding space for clients. To find out more about my credentials take a look at my qualifications list below. I have 10 years experience in supporting clients and specialise in holding space for women who are, Navigating periods of change, struggling with self esteem and confidence, finding purpose, grief, loss and anxiety. (this list is not exhaustive, if you are moving through something not listed get in touch to see if I can help)

I am also a trained birth and abortion doula and am passionate about supporting women on their journey with menstrual cycle issues, coming off hormonal contraception, fertility, pregnancy, pregnancy loss (miscarriage, abortion, still birth), postpartum and parenthood. These are such huge transitions in life that come with a lot to integrate and often not enough support. If you are on this journey now and it feels overwhelming know that you are not failing, you are human, you are enough and you are so worthy of being supported.

Getting to walk alongside incredible women and empowering them on their healing journey is work I am deeply passionate about. Get in touch to see if Heart centred therapy is right for you book a free 20 minute, no obligation chat, I am looking forward to meeting you.

With warmth.

Caroline

Training, qualifications & experience

I am a Person Centred Psychotherapist and support clients in a heart centred way.  I have a BA honours Degree in Counselling skills and Drama and a BACP accredited Diploma in Person Centred Counselling. I am a  Registered Member of the BACP and NCS am really committed to continuously learning and developing my skills. I am a trained Coach and Mentor and Psychological Wellbeing Practitioner. My wide reaching training means I have many therapeutic techniques to pull from as every client is unique and their journey through therapy should reflect that.

I have worked in a wide range of settings including Higher Education, charity, IAPT, digital mental health platform and private practice. This has given me the opportunity to learn how to develop warm, supportive and trusting therapeutic relationships with a diverse range of clients.

I am also a trained birth doula with Red tent Doulas and abortion doula with DOPO and bring my passion and knowledge to support women who are navigating the journey of pregnancy, parenthood and loss.

I am continually looking for ways to develop as a therapist through continued professional development. I work in a trauma informed way and am always looking for ways to support clients to overcome trauma. I have attended CPD training “More than words” training which explored ways to bring the body into therapy so that trauma and emotion can be processed and let go of to support clients healing. I also have an interest in the role of self compassion in therapy and have attended CPD training in Compassion Focused Therapy.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

Accredited register membership

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
