About me

Hi, I’m Caroline and I’m an integrative, heart-centred psychotherapist. I’m glad you’re here. I know it can feel like a lot to look for a therapist and reach out for support. I tried to make my page punchy and straight to the point, but it didn’t feel like me anymore, so I decided to write you a letter instead. I hope this will help you to get a sense of whether I’m the right person to hold space for you, so get yourself a cup of tea and have a read.

I’m guessing you’re here because you’re carrying something that you can’t work through on your own. Some of the issues that show up often in the women I support are:

  • Life transitions and feeling off track
  • Low self-esteem and confidence
  • People-pleasing and difficulty setting boundaries
  • Body image issues
  • Anxiety, overwhelm, and burnout
  • Grief and loss
  • Womb/Hormonal issues such as painful periods, fibroids, PCOS, endometriosis, PMDD
  • Feeling disconnected from yourself, your body, and your emotions
  • Feeling stuck in survival mode

Whatever has brought you here, and however stuck you feel, I want you to know that you don’t need to navigate this alone. I believe in your ability to overcome whatever is weighing you down. I have worked with thousands of women over my 18 years of practice and have seen, time and again, the healing that happens when they have a safe space to come back home to themselves. My job is to meet you where you are with warmth, compassion, and an unwavering belief in your ability to overcome, heal, and thrive.

I also specialise in supporting mothers through:

  • Pregnancy and postpartum
  • Matrescence and identity shifts
  • Birth processing
  • Loss and complex emotions around motherhood

The journey to and through motherhood is a huge rite of passage that comes with so much change, emotionally, physically, and in your sense of identity too. This journey of becoming a mother, or navigating matrescence, is so under-recognised and under-supported, and leaves many mothers feeling like they are failing.

I want you to know that you aren’t. You can be overwhelmed and still be an absolutely good enough mother to your little one. You deserve to be held and supported as you make sense of this new role and find yourself within it.

My approach:

I am an integrative therapist, which means I have a range of different tools and approaches I can draw from to support you. What underpins all of my work is a belief that the relationship we build together is the biggest catalyst for change and healing, so I work in a warm and heart-centred way to make sure you feel safe in our sessions.

I am a big believer in the mind-body connection and will often use body-based healing modalities such as meditation, somatic practices to move emotion, and breath work. This is always offered as an invitation, and you decide what tools feel right for you and which don’t.

I also work with creativity in my sessions, and this may be through journalling suggestions or letter writing for healing.

You have taken a really big and courageous step today in looking for some support. I know how hard that can feel. I am celebrating you for listening to that little voice inside that guided you to take this step.

Drop me a message to arrange a free 20-minute consultation call so we can explore what you’re moving through and how therapy with me can help.

Warmly,

Caroline

Training, qualifications & experience

I am a Person Centred Psychotherapist and support clients in a heart centred way. Here is an overview of my training:

  • BA honours Degree in Counselling skills and Drama
  • BACP accredited Diploma in Person Centred Counselling.
  • Registered Member of the BACP. I am committed to continuously learning and developing my skills.
  • ILM level 3Coach and Mentor
  • Psychological Wellbeing Practitioner.

My wide reaching training means I have many therapeutic techniques to pull from as every client is unique and their journey through therapy should reflect that.

I have lived experience of neurodivergence and have worked collaboratively with a lot of neurodivergent clients to create a space in therapy that feels accessible and honours their needs and ways of being in the world.

I am also a trained birth doula with Red tent Doulas and abortion doula with DOPO and bring my passion and knowledge to support women who are navigating the journey of pregnancy, parenthood and loss.

I am continually looking for ways to develop as a therapist through continued professional development. I work in a trauma informed way and am always looking for ways to support clients to overcome trauma. I have attended CPD training “More than words” training which explored ways to bring the body into therapy so that trauma and emotion can be processed and let go of to support clients healing. I also have an interest in the role of self compassion in therapy and have attended CPD training in Compassion Focused Therapy.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

Accredited register membership

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
