About me
I trained as a counsellor after experiencing first-hand just how transformative it can be.
I am a qualified and insured Therapeutic Counsellor and a Registered Member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP). My register number is 384909.
My pronouns are she/her.
I offer face-to-face, phone, video and email counselling sessions. I work with people aged 14 and above.
I offer daytime and evening appointments.
My approach to counselling is Person-Centred, which means I strive to create an environment that is non-judgemental and empathic and that I value my clients and their experience. I offer warmth, integrity and acceptance to my clients.
Before I trained as a counsellor, I remember it being really important to me that my counsellor listened to me and understood things from my perspective, without trying to be the all-knowing expert. That's how I like to work with my clients now - I know they are the expert on how their life is and how it feels to be them. I am there to provide the space and right environment for them to be able to look at whatever it is they want to work on, facilitating their growth and working alongside them.
People attend counselling for a variety of reasons. For example, anxiety or depression, feeling sad/angry/lonely/hopeless, relationship breakdown, gender dysphoria, feeling misunderstood by others or experiencing a traumatic or life altering event.
What to expect when we first speak/meet
- We would discuss your needs and arrange an initial session, this is sometimes called an assessment.
- The initial session is 50 minutes and is £55.
- We will discuss things like your contact details, emergency contact, my data privacy policy, confidentiality and a brief outline of what has brought you to counselling.
- It gives you the opportunity to decide if I am the right counsellor for you.
There is no obligation to continue on to counselling with me after the initial session. - If you decide to start counselling with me then we will meet weekly.
- Sessions that are face-to-face, by phone or video are 50 minutes long.
- Email sessions are weekly and have a word limit rather than a time limit.
There is more information on my website or of course I’m happy to answer any questions you may have by email. I look forward to speaking to you.

- Other recent training includes: Online and Telephone Counselling, CIS Normative Society, Heteronormative Society, Gender and Sex, Gender Neutral Pronouns, Suicidal Ideation in LGBTQ Clients, Relational Depth, Trauma and Pluralistic Counselling, Psychodynamic theory.

Member organisations
BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).
Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.
Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.
All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
Accredited register membership
The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
