About me
How can I help you?
Hi, I'm Caitlin - I know that life can feel really tough at times. I also know it's not always easy to ask for help, but when you get some support it can really make the difference.
Individually or as part of a couple we can all go through times in our life where we may struggle, experience difficulties or just find things hard. I support people seeking therapy for many reasons – difficulties in relationships (romantic, familial, friendships), anxiety (whether that is a generalised anxiety disorder or relates to a specific issue), depression, experiencing low self esteem or confidence, recovering from trauma, bereavement, loss, stress, feelings of overwhelm and burn out .
How counselling can help:
Working together, I hope that my clients will leave therapy:
- Feeling seen and understood, and feeling like they matter
- Feeling more positive and confident, feeling more able to make the changes in their lives and relationships that they want to, and to find ways to live richer, fuller lives
- Understanding themselves better - having more insight into the 'why' of how they respond or how they feel in situations
- Using awareness and insight into themselves to cope better with situations and emotional demands
- Feeling much more connected to themselves and their feelings, and able to rebuild their emotional strength
- Feeling able to improve their relationships and interactions with others
Whether you're struggling in relationships, feeling anxious, upset, low or overwhelmed by negative thoughts, struggling with your sense of identity, or maybe you are just feeling stuck. Talking openly about how you are feeling is very powerful, it can help to ease and reduce troubling thoughts.
Perhaps you feel that your difficulties stem from what's happening now, or maybe from past experiences, or both - I hope to work together with my clients to help them understand themselves better. This could be through exploring patterns of behaviour, responses to emotional situations or ways of responding in relationships.
Its good to acknowledge that therapy isn’t just for the difficult times, it can also be helpful if you are just looking to better understand yourself, improve relationships, manage stress, and approach challenges with more confidence
'What truly sets Caitlin apart is her genuine compassion and dedication. She went above and beyond to support me, as well as showing understanding and compassion when life threw me curve balls. Her unwavering encouragement and belief in my potential instilled a newfound sense of confidence and self-worth in me ' (client, 2024)
For individuals: therapy can provide a space for personal growth and transformation. It helps you explore how your past influences your present and equips you with new strategies to move forward. The goal is to support you in overcoming challenges and building the life and relationships you want.
For couples and intimate partners: therapy can help couples recognise and change unhelpful dynamics. The work often focuses on improving communication, developing understanding and compassion, and providing tools for more productive interactions. The aim is to strengthen relationships by addressing issues from all sides.
'I really valued the work we did, I felt very heard and understood which I think is vital, thank you for your attentiveness, care, attention to detail and professionalism' Client 2025
My work is work rooted in the belief that we all possess the capacity for growth, and that insight and self-awareness are the starting points for positive change. I work relationally, using a range of therapeutic models.

Member organisations
BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
Accredited register membership
The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.

Therapy isn't always easy, reconnecting with feelings, experiences or memories we may have been avoiding, or not thought about for a while can be difficult and upsetting. But with a focus on compassion, acceptance and understanding, I hope I can offer a safe and caring space where people’s unique lived experiences are respected; somewhere to talk freely and openly.
'Caitlin demonstrated exceptional listening skills, never rushing me and always making me feel heard and understood. Her insightful questions and thoughtful reflections helped me gain a deeper understanding of my feelings and thought patterns' Client 2024
