About me

Hello Fellow Sojourner,

I’m glad you’re here, reading these words, even though I imagine you might feel like you’re standing at a crossroads. There’s a lot going on in life right now, right? Sometimes, it can feel like we’re stuck in the middle of a dense forest, unsure of which way to go. Maybe you’re here because you’re tired of feeling alone in that place, or because you’re ready to start finding your way out, step by step.

I’ve always believed that therapy is more than just talking. It’s a slowly unfolding process of untangling a knot that’s been pulled too tight over time. At first, it might seem impossible, as if those knots will never loosen. But gradually, with patience, care, and time, things might begin to shift. Slowly, as we start to make sense of the twists and turns, even when they feel overwhelming or impossible to navigate.

I understand how deeply painful it can be to feel lost in your emotions. The hopelessness, the fear, the loneliness—it’s a space where many of us have been at one time or another, and it’s not easy to sit with those feelings. But that’s what I’m here for: to sit with you, to be by your side, as you start to explore what’s going on inside.

I’ve seen, time and again, and experienced in myself how therapy can bring about those almost invisible changes —the ones that start off so small you don’t even notice them at first. Maybe it’s the way you react to something that would have completely overwhelmed you before. Or the way you start to notice that the weight you’ve been carrying doesn’t feel quite as heavy anymore. Change, in therapy, sometimes feels like the slow rising of the sun. First, it’s dark, then there’s a flicker of light on the horizon, and before you know it, there’s daylight.

The process isn’t always straightforward. Sometimes, it feels like one step forward and two steps back. But even in those moments of doubt, darkness and frustration, there’s movement. We’re still walking side by side. You’re still showing up, and that means something. Every step, no matter how small, matters. It’s a sign that you’re beginning to trust yourself, bit by bit, and that’s where real change starts to happen.

The safe space we create together allows you to let your guard down, where your pain is acknowledged and held. Therapy is a partnership, and as much as I’m here to guide, support, and listen to you, I believe that you hold the answers deep inside. My role is to help you reconnect with that part of yourself — the part that knows how to navigate this path, even when it feels like the ground is shaking beneath your feet.

Over time, that hopelessness starts to fade. You are learning and growing. The unimaginable becomes something you’ve faced. And the best part? You’ll realise you’ve been stronger than you ever gave yourself credit for. You’ve managed to navigate the storm, bit by bit, and the sun is rising again. It’s still early, maybe, but there’s light. There’s more clarity and movement inside. And with it, comes the knowledge that you can face whatever lies ahead.

Therapy is a journey, and while it may be hard to see at first, every session, every conversation, brings you closer to a place of understanding, self-compassion, and hope. You find yourself standing in the light, realising that yes, you can handle this. You’ve already come so far.

If this resonates with you, if you’re ready to take that first step, I’ll be here—ready to walk with you.

Warmly,

Brigitta

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
