About me

I am an experienced and accredited Counsellor working online with adults and young people over 13. I am here to listen and understand, to support you with whatever is troubling you at this time. Together we will find a way through.

I help people who want to understand themselves better and are looking to develop more self-compassion and less self-judgement. To know how to make better choices and be able to speak up for themselves.

Anxiety, depression, low self-esteem and a lack of confidence can all feel impossible to overcome. They can feel like you, rather than something you are experiencing. It can be easy to fall into the belief there is something wrong with you, rather than you are doing the best you can to cope with something.

Training, qualifications & experience

As an integrative counsellor, I have been  trained in different approaches which allows us to use the most suitable way for you.  Together we will create a  relationship where you can begin to feel safe and start to explore how to move forward at a pace that feels right for you. I offer a time and space for you to feel heard and understood, through using creativity, body therapy and solution focused approaches where your life can begin to make sense again.

I have worked for in both national and local charities offering counselling for adults and young people. My experience includes working with adults at Mind, who self referred with anxiety, depression and both work and personal stress. At the CAMHS funded referral service I often saw young people who struggled with exam anxiety especially around exams and friendships and this can be expressed in self harm or suicidal thoughts. My experience is in listening to you as an individual and how your mental health struggles are impacting your life.

I have a Level 5 Diploma and hold up to date safeguarding training and have a registered DBS. As an accredited member of BACP, I abide by their code of ethical practice and undertake regular clinical supervision.

Member organisations

Registered / Accredited

Registered / Accredited

Being registered/accredited with a professional body means an individual must have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by their member organisation.

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
