About me

People come to see me for all kinds of reasons. Anxiety that won't switch off. A heaviness that has drained the colour from things. Something from the past that the body still carries. A relationship that feels stuck. Grief. A harsh inner critic. Or sometimes just a quiet sense of being lost, of going through the motions, of knowing there is more.

Whatever yours is, it is welcome here, and it makes sense. That is usually where we begin: not with what is wrong with you, but with how what you are experiencing came to be, and what it has been trying to do for you.

I have been doing this work for more than twenty years, and I remain fascinated by how our inner landscapes shape our lives. My approach brings together mind, body and feelings, because lasting change rarely comes from insight alone. Talking matters, and so does learning to listen to what your body already knows. As a certified Somatic Experiencing Practitioner and UKCP-registered psychotherapist, I work gently with what the nervous system holds, at a pace that always respects your sense of safety. You will not be asked to relive painful experiences over and over. That is not how healing works, and it is not how I work.

Sessions are available in person at my practices in Leith and Newington, Edinburgh, and online across the UK and around the world. I work with individuals and couples, and I also offer clinical supervision to fellow therapists.

Therapy is a big investment, and the relationship matters more than anything else, so I offer a free initial consultation. No pressure and no obligation, just a relaxed chat about what you are looking for and whether I am the right fit. If what brings you is not listed anywhere on my profile, that does not mean I cannot help. Get in touch and we can talk.
