About me

Hello and welcome. Starting therapy can feel daunting but also incredibly liberating once you get started. I offer a warm and welcoming environment where together we can explore what is troubling you and seek to ultimately find relief through this process. With nine years of experience working with clients who have sought to make sense of their life, I am able to help by walking alongside you in your journey, whether this is for a short while or longer-term. In our time together, we will uncover what lies behind your anxieties and try out strategies that may support you as you work through the challenges you are facing. You may know what is specifically troubling you or may have a more general feeling of unease or dissatisfaction in your life that you would like to look at more closely.

Previously, I worked in corporate communications and for the civil service. Having lived abroad, I am able to offer sessions in Portuguese in addition to English. As an Integrative Transpersonal Psychotherapist, I draw upon a broad theory base and techniques in order to tailor-make the therapy to you and what you choose to bring. I believe that our developing relationship is a key component of the therapy and endeavour to create a safe space for you where growth can take place. I bring a healthy dose of pragmatism, humour and optimism and I hope that our sessions can bring clarity and feel healing.

Do get in touch if you feel drawn to my profile or have any questions. I look forward to meeting you for an exploratory session where we can decide if we can work well together.

Training, qualifications & experience

I am an accredited psychotherapist and registered member of the United Kingdom Council for Psychotherapy (UKCP). I am also a registered member MBACP (380639) of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP).

I have a postgraduate diploma in Transpersonal Integrative Psychotherapy and Counselling from the Centre for Counselling and Pyschotherapy Education (CCPE), one of London's leading training organisations and many years of experience of working with people in diverse therapeutic settings.

I started my work with clients at Mind and spent many years with the Caravan Drop-in Counselling service in Piccadilly and FreshStart Psychotherapy. I then completed a clinical placement at The Maudsley as part of my training before starting in private practice.

Additional qualifications: BSc. Natural Sciences

Registered / Accredited

Registered / Accredited

Being registered/accredited with a professional body means an individual must have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by their member organisation.

UKCP
UK Council for Psychotherapy (UKCP)

The UK Council for Psychotherapy (UKCP) is a leading professional body for the education, training and regulation of psychotherapists and psychotherapeutic counsellors. Its register is accredited by the government's Professional Standards Authority.

As part of its commitment to protect the public, it works to improve access to psychotherapy, to support and disseminate research, to improve standards and to respond effectively to complaints against its members.

UKCP standards cover the range of different psychotherapies. Registration is obtained by training or accrediting with one of its member organisations, or by holding a European Certificate in Psychotherapy. Accredited by the Professional Standards Authority.

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
