About me

I fully appreciate how daunting it can be contacting a Counsellor. You are welcome to contact me for a free, no obligation talk so I can answer any questions you may have and explain how I work.  I hope you will find me down to earth, relaxed and friendly.

Ways in which I can help include:

If you are feeling anxious, sad or angry and your relationships are difficult with a partner or family and friends, then we could unpick your thoughts and feelings and try to help you understand yourself and the way you relate with others more.

You have a strong inner critic and have low self esteem.  Are you over thinking, or worrying and feeling low for no reason,  affecting your self confidence? Let's look at the obstacles and triggers together and find ways for you to have a new perspective on life.

You have experienced a loss through the death of a loved one.  Or a living loss of  change in lifestyle due to changes in a relationship, job, or the impact of an illness.

I work with young adults from aged 16 and adults.  I am committed to honouring the equality and diversity of my clients, including a good understanding of neurodiversity and working to the ethical framework of the BACP.

We can talk about what you are experiencing and how you would like life to be happier and more balanced. Counselling can give you a clearer frame of mind, a more positive outlook on life and better communication with others, allowing you to cope and feel more in control of your situation.

I have a down to earth and kind approach with an emphasis on building a non judgemental and trusting relationship with you. I offer a warm and caring space for you to feel heard and supported.

I am experienced in working face to face either in a dedicated room space or walk and talk outside, as well as online, and work via Zoom or over the phone.

Online therapy offers flexibility for appointment times and you can avoid travel time and work from the comfort of your own home at a time that is convenient to you.

I also offer Walk and Talk therapy in Wimborne and Verwood, please contact me direct for more details. Or you can read more about this on my blog on my website www.counsellingwithanna.co.uk/blog

If you want to find out more or have some questions call 07425 051459 for a free, no obligation chat, where we can discuss your needs.

You can also contact me via my website, www.counsellingwithanna.co.uk or drop me an email to counsellingwithanna@gmail.com

I am passionate about the positive changes that Counselling can bring to a person's wellbeing and lifestyle. Having the opportunity to be heard without judgement allows you to feel less alone with your own problems and see your thoughts from a different perspective. Wouldn't it be great to spend time on yourself, feel more in control and improve your quality of life?

What can you expect?

If we are working together online then you can choose an appointment time that is convenient to you. You will find Counselling an opportunity to focus on your own needs and concerns and to unravel those uncomfortable thoughts and feelings in a space that belongs only to you.

We can look at the best approach to suit you, number of sessions you want to work and what you hope to achieve through coming to counselling.

The outcomes could be a clearer frame of mind, a more positive outlook, feeling better about yourself and better communication with others allowing you to cope more with life.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
