About me
I provide psychotherapy, counselling and supervision in person in Cambridge and online across the UK. With over 17 years experience, I work with children, young people, adults and families.
I offer
- a free introductory call: a chance to discuss the possibility of working together and to answer your questions
- an initial 60 min consultation: a chance to explore more in depth what short-term or ongoing therapy might be like and how it could help. Following the meeting we can decide whether to continue with further sessions and make a plan, based on what has been discussed and if we think that we are a good therapeutic fit.
My approach is broadly psychodynamic, but interventions are always adapted to my clients' individual needs. I pay attention to what may be going on under the surface and to the ways past experiences can shape our current lives. Most importantly, I aim to develop a therapeutic relationship that is collaborative, caring and supportive.
As we go through different stages in our life we experience challenges and transitions, some of which we may struggle to understand and manage. Our development as individuals is far from linear. Psychodynamic therapy works by addressing the roots of your difficulties, not just the symptoms. Together, we will look at what is troubling you or holding you back. By gaining better understanding about yourself you can come up with options and a renewed sense of purpose in your life.
Many of my clients are students, professionals and academics - but I work with people from all walks of life. My experience is broad and includes managing therapy services in schools, working as a clinical lead for a children’s mental health charity, providing therapy to staff and students at university, and supervising a wide range of practitioners.
I can help with a wide range of issues, including depression, stress and anxiety, low self-esteem, family issues, issues at work, loss and bereavement.
I have a particular interest in interpersonal, intercultural and relationship issues, the impact of life challenges and transitions on our sense of self, issues with self-worth and loss of meaning in life.
For more information about supervision and reflective practice please see my profile as a supervisor.
Working with young people
I have extensive experience of working with young people and young adults, helping them to make sense of their experiences and make the challenges of life and study more manageable.
I work alongside young people who may struggle with feelings of guilt, shame, loss, parental separation, creative blocks and issues with identity and belonging. The experience of understanding ourselves better and of feeling understood can lead to a renewed sense of agency and a more positive sense of self.
Family consultations
Being a parent or carer can be a very fulfilling experience, but it can also bring up challenges along the way. I meet with parents and carers to explore their experience of parenting, to improve communication and emotional connection, and to identify effective tools to manage difficulties. The feedback that I have received confirms that even a single consultation can be extremely beneficial.
I am accredited as a psychotherapist by the BPC and I have supervision for all my practice. I offer therapy in English and in Italian.

Member organisations
school Registered / Accredited
Being registered/accredited with a professional body means an individual must have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by their member organisation.
The British Psychoanalytic Council (BPC) is a professional association, representing the profession of psychoanalytic psychotherapy.
The organisation is itself made up of fourteen member organisations and BPC accredits the trainings of its member organisations. An individual who qualifies from one of these trainings is then eligible for entry into the BPC's register.
BPC registrants are governed by a code of ethics, a policy of continuing professional development, a statement on confidentiality and a complaints procedure. The BPC is a Member Society of the European Federation for Psychoanalytic Psychotherapy in the Public Sector (EFPP). Accredited by the Professional Standards Authority.
BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
