About me

Face-to-face or online psychological therapy sessions.

If you are suffering with anxiety, depression, trauma-related difficulties, complex PTSD, complex trauma, relational difficulties or difficulties regulating your emotions, then I hope to be able to help you.

I am a Chartered Clinical Psychologist registered with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC) and the British Psychological Society (BPS).

I am an integrative therapist, which means that I am trained in and use multiple therapeutic approaches in my practice, and adapt the therapy to an individual's needs.

I have a specialist training in psychodynamic therapy - Intensive Short-Term Dynamic Psychotherapy (ISTDP). I am trained in Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing (EMDR) therapy, a nationally recommended treatment for post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD).

I have also received training in and experienced in the delivery of Dialectical Behavioural Therapy (DBT) skills training. This approach may be particularly helpful for difficulties relating to regulating emotions, and finding ways to safely manage through times of intense emotional distress.

My areas of specialism include:

  • Anxiety - including panic attacks, social anxiety, obsessive compulsive disorder (OCD), phobias,
  • Low mood/depression - difficulties enjoying activities, tearful, lethargy, withdrawing from others
  • Emotion Regulation difficulties.
  • Low confidence and self-esteem issues
  • Post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD)
  • Complex Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder /  Complex Trauma
  • Working with those who have experienced trauma/abuse
  • Self-harm
  • Grief, loss and bereavement
  • Emotional difficulties that may lead to physical symptoms/medically unexplained symptoms
  • Difficulties making/sustaining relationships
  • Working with individuals to help them to become more assertive

I am committed to working with individuals to develop a non-judgemental, and supportive therapeutic relationship between client and therapist, through which feelings and difficulties can be explored.

Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC)

The HCPC are an independent, UK-wide health regulator. They set standards of professional training, performance and conduct for 16 professions.

They keep a register of health professionals who meet their standards, and they take action if registered health professionals fall below those standards. They were created by a piece of legislation called the Health Professions Order 2001.

Registration means that a health professional meets national standards for their professional training, performance and conduct.
