Amy Wright Counselling BA (Hons), Reg'd MBACP
I am a fully qualified counsellor, having successfully completed the BA (Hons) Counselling Studies degree programme, with several years of experience in the counselling field. I offer professional and confidential, person-centred counselling.
I work with adults aged 18 years and above, offering one-to-one counselling.
The counselling that I offer is usually open-ended, but can be flexible with whether it is long or short term counselling, depending on the individual client's needs.
Counselling offers a safe, confidential and non-judgemental space to explore any issues that the client may have, in order to gain more insight and understanding into themselves and their feelings and to identify any areas of life that a client may wish to change.
The building of an equal and trusting relationship is paramount to my work and I believe that each client that I work with is an individual and value them as such, working in an empathic and understanding way to help the client to discover and learn more about themselves and to find their own unique way of resolving any issues that are impacting upon them and moving forward with their lives.
In terms of my professional practice, I am a member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP) and on the BACP Accredited Voluntary Register. This means that I adhere to the BACP Ethical Framework, and as such attend regular supervision, hold a current and up to date Enhanced Criminal Records Bureau (CRB) check and am fully covered by Professional Indemnity insurance. I am also registered as a data controller with the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) and therefore compliant with General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) legislation.
For more information about myself, the work that I do please access my website as shown above.

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy
BACP is one of the UK’s largest professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy. Therapists registered with the Association fall into a number of different membership categories such as Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP and Registered Member MBACP (Accred), each standing for different levels of training and experience. MBACP (Accred) and MBACP (Snr Accred) members have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by the Association.
Registered members can be found on the BACP Register, which was the first register to achieve Accredited Voluntary Register status issued by the Professional Standards Authority. Individual Members will have completed an appropriate counselling and/or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but will not appear on the BACP Register until they've progressed to Registered Member MBACP status.
All members are bound by a Code of Ethics & Practice and a Complaints Procedure. Accredited by the Professional Standards Authority.
