About me

Welcome! My name is Allegra and I'm a qualified counsellor with a passion for helping people find inner healing and personal growth.

What is Counselling?

Seeking counselling can feel daunting, but I aim to make the process as comfortable as possible by fostering a safe, judgement-free space. My goal is for you to feel at ease opening up about anything that may be weighing on your mind.

Life presents all of us with challenges that can be difficult to navigate alone. In our sessions, we can explore those issues together and find solutions that feel right for you. I will meet you where you are emotionally and we'll work at your pace, without any pressure.

Counselling provides a unique opportunity to better understand yourself and why you feel the way you do. By creating a trusting relationship, we can delve into past hurts or current struggles, increasing your self-awareness and equipping you with healthy coping tools.

If you're experiencing a personal crisis, trauma, confidence issues, or other mental health concerns, counselling offers a path forward. My job is to listen, encourage and guide you as you rediscover your inner resilience.

About Me

I am a member of the BACP and adhere to their ethical framework, so you can rest assured our work together abides by industry best practices. I pursue ongoing training and continued professional development to remain up-to-date on the latest counselling techniques and approaches.

I have a CPCAB Level 4 Diploma in Therapeutic Counselling and have spent the past two years working as a counsellor with a low-cost agency. In this role I've worked with clients facing anxiety, depression, grief, relationship issues, addiction, low self-esteem, and more.

My therapeutic style draws from person-centred, CBT, psychodynamic, existentialism and other evidence-based modalities. I tailor my approach to each client's unique situation and goals.

I offer online counselling via online video or phone. We can start with a free 30-minute introductory session to see if we are a good fit. Ongoing sessions are £50. Discounted rates are available for students or those needing financial assistance.

Please reach out if you're seeking empathetic support on your personal journey toward healing and growth. I look forward to meeting you.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
