About me

Hello I'm Alexandra,

I work with adults experiencing a range of concerns and issues such as depression, anxiety, low self-esteem and grief and bereavement.

I am a calm and compassionate counsellor, I feel deeply privileged to hear your story and witness, support and walk beside you on your journey through all that life brings.

I have a particular interest in life transitions and in supporting people to uncover their their true self and find a sense of authenticity and purpose in life.

I have received additional specialist additional training in supporting grief and bereavement.

I’m passionate about offering a safe, non-judgemental and compassionate space where you can feel fully heard and understood.

What is Psychodynamic counselling and how can it help?

Psychodynamic counselling can offer support during difficult periods of life or in coping with ongoing or long term issues

It can also be a space to explore self-development and personal growth or receive support and guidance during life changes and transitions.

Psychodynamic therapy can help you to uncover, understand and overcome issues which may be holding you back from the life you want. Whether that’s childhood trauma, relationship or family issues, low self-esteem, anxiety, depression, grief and loss, or maybe feeling lost and not quite where you want to be in life.

Therapy is always a major investment in terms of time, money and and energy but it can be life changing and immensely rewarding. Some of the outcomes of successful therapy include:

Increased self-confidence and self-esteem

Better relationships

Validation of your past and how it has shaped you

Overcoming limiting beliefs and obstacles to the life you want

Increased tolerance for emotional states and easing of mental distress

Clarity in life direction and decision making

Stronger personal boundaries and assertiveness

Greater resilience to deal with future stresses and life events.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

Further information

I work from a dedicated therapy centre situated on the edge of the Malvern Hills in Worcestershire.

Psychodynamic counselling sessions occur weekly, for 50 minutes, at the same time and place each week.

I offer an initial telephone call to discuss what you are looking for from counselling and to discuss the practicalities such as availability.

Following this, an assessment session is booked where we will discuss in  more detail what brings you to counselling and what you hope to achieve. This is an opportunity for us to get to know each other, for you to find out more about the way I work and for us to decide if we are a good fit to work together.

If we decide that ongoing counselling is the right step for you, we will arrange weekly sessions, which will be your space exclusively for as long as you need it.
