About me
About me
I'm a qualified and experienced counsellor based in Worcestershire.
My aim is to provide a warm, supportive space where you can make sense of what you are going through and move forward with clarity, confidence and resilience.
I work from a psychodynamic perspective, which explores how childhood experiences and past relationships, can profoundly shape current emotions and behaviour.
Counselling can be a space to gently bring into awareness and understanding, the unconscious feelings, underlying conflicts and self-defeating patterns which prevent us from living life to the full.
Psychodynamic therapy seeks to understand to 'why' behind problems, rather than just treating symptoms, leading to lasting psychological change and improved relationships.
I also have additional training to work sensitively with grief and bereavement.
Who I work with
Adults who are navigating: relationship issues, adverse childhood experiences, loss of purpose and identity, low self-esteem or confidence, midlife transition, menopause, anxiety, low mood, overwhelm…
People dealing with grief, bereavement and non-bereavement loss: relationship breakups, estrangement, health changes, career and life role changes…
The ways I work
Open-ended, ongoing therapy: my psychodynamic training equips me to help you to understand deep-seated, often unconscious reasons for anxiety, low mood, relationship issues and repeating patterns. My aim is to provide a safe and supportive space for deep self-discovery, that creates sustainable emotional health and change.
Shorter-term counselling- to work through a specific issue or challenge or to gain self-understanding.
My work is client-focused, compassionate and tailored to your needs. Sessions can be free-flowing and non-directive, or more solution focused, depending on your goals.
I often work creatively, using therapeutic writing and journalling, dreamwork and active imagination to support growth.

Member organisations
BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
Accredited register membership
The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.

Further information
Counselling sessions are 50 minutes in duration.
I offer an initial telephone call to discuss what you are looking for from counselling and to discuss the practicalities such as availability.
Following this, an initial consultation session is booked where we will discuss in more detail what brings you to counselling and what you hope to achieve. This is an opportunity for us to get to know each other, for you to find out more about the way I work and for us to decide if we are a good fit to work together.
