About me

Hello and welcome

I'm so glad you found me.

When it comes to looking for a therapist online I know how scary and strange it can feel with the myriad of choices, how do you know who will be right for you?

Here are some things I'd like you to know about me;

I am a fully qualified CPCAB counsellor meaning I have been trained and assessed by nationally certified exam bodies.

I follow the strict framework and ethics of a nationally recognized body.

I work integratively meaning I use lots of different models allowing me to tailor my sessions specifically around my client's needs.

I work solely online allowing me to offer sessions to you no matter what part of the country you live in, with the ease and comfort of being in your own desired space alongside the added benefits of covid safety.

I have had my own mental health struggles in the past and chose to explore 3 years of weekly counselling myself so I know first-hand how it can feel from a client's perspective.

I am passionate about helping people uncover their higher potential. Witnessing this transformation is a privilege and the reason that I adore my job.

Training, qualifications & experience

I am a registered member of the BACP (British Association of Counsellors and Psychotherapists) this means I have passed their proficiency exam and

Before becoming a counsellor I worked as a lighting technician in London's West End Theatre industry. Working alongside huge casts, directors and creative teams honed my interpersonal skill allowing me to develop advanced communication and active listening alongside interacting closely with people from all different cultural, economic, and social backgrounds.

I also became adept at mediating highly stressful situations in a calm, balanced and respectful way, conflict resolution was a priority to a smooth running production.

Within the therapy space, the relationship I hold with you (my client) is paramount to me. I work hard to foster a safe, empathic space filled with unconditional positive regard.

It is my belief that every client has the answers to their own issues deep inside and together we walk side by side in an arena of non-judgment and equal partnership to unlock them.

You will always be in complete control of every session, this will always be your time and space, I do not lead and I do not advise, instead, I use theory, psycho-education & specifically targeted, exploratory questions based on the information you share to unearth the answers that are congruent and most applicable for you.

My aim is to empower you to grow your own awareness, resources, and understanding of "self" until that moment you are ready to be discharged and take all you have discovered about yourself with you onto the next stage of your journey.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

Accredited register membership

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy
Accredited Register Scheme

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
